Question: Peels Versus Microdermabrasion

Are peels effective in removing slight acne scars and pitting .

Answer

Unfortunately, if you have pitting, peels and microdermabrasion will only have a very limited result on your skin. You really do need a combination of treatments. Pitting and scarring is a dermal injury and we need to reach the deeper layers of the skin and this is not going to be achieved with microderm or simple peels. In most cases we need to incorporate a combination of needling, carboxy therapy, mesotherapy and laser therapy. (In severe cases we need to do fractional resurfacing with a specialised laser). We would need to have a look at your skin specifically to be able to give you the very best advice. Are you near to any of our Skin Renewal Branches so that we can help you and discuss your options? One of our doctors would be able to discuss the various options with you and will be able to help you with any other questions or queries you may have regarding your skin.
