Question: Question from AndreaM

Hi Lisa can i use a pedometer to track my cardio work outs? like using the elliptical or jogging, or is just for walking?

Answer

Hi there – it’s all about which device you get! A pedometer specifically tracks steps – so it’s only suitable for walking, jogging and running. Other devices – like an accelerometer – will measure your speed / distance / intensity, and are therefore useful for activities that don’t have noticeable impact per step. I personally prefer the Fitbit range of devices, as they are sophisticated, multifunctional and accurate.
