Unfortunately, cold sores are viral. So there isn’t a sure-fire “quick fix”, I’m afraid. Also, if your immune system is currently taking strain or if you are very stressed, this will prolong the healing time even further. Best idea is to get yourself on to some really good antioxidants and high doses of vitamin C. You can also ask your doctor to prescribe the appropriate meds and of course while you are doing all of this, you can also try some of those great old “home remedies”, like putting a small amount of toothpaste on your cold sore before going to bed at night. I’m not convinced, but many people swear by this “quick fix”!
