Question: I need some advice on how to get rid of dark under eye circles.

Hi, I have had black rings under my eyes most of my life and now due to having to put concealer under my eyes fine lines have appeared and are worsened by the concealer I have to wear over my base. I still have not found any treatment that actually works to reduce the black rings? What could be done surgically? Thanks

Answer

Hi there. Thank you for submitting your question. Surgically there is not much that can be done for dark circles under your eyes. But there are a few things that can be done without surgery. The most important thing being to pin point the trigger for your dark circles and then prescribe the most appropriate treatment from there. There are a few things that are successful in treating dark under eye circles (provided the correct cause has been identified), namely Laser Genesis, Carboxy therapy, Mesotherapy, in some cases under-eye filler sorts this out. My advice would be that you come and see me or one of our Skin Renewal doctors so that we can have a look, do the necessary investigation and help you accordingly. You can find any one of our Branches on www.skinrenewal.co.za
