Question: Question from Lulama Mahlangu

Hi Dr, I have a problem with my hairline, it wouldn't grow back! It has been two long years, I even shaved my hair to start from scratch, but this front patch wouldn't grow back, I've used coconut oil, olive oil nothing works and I keep my hair natural. Please help.

Answer

Hi there Lulama. I’m so sorry to hear that you are struggling with this. Unfortunately, when it comes to hair loss, it’s very often something that has stemmed from an internal problem. Simply applying oils are unfortunately not going to cause regeneration of the hair follicles. In a case like yours, you would need to consider something like PRP, or mesotherapy or carboxytherapy (or a combination of these) in order to actually stimulate the hair follicles themselves. It would also be a good idea to investigate further in order to see what has caused this in the first place, to ensure that it does not reoccur. I would love to help you more if I can.
