Question: Question from paulaice

Hi Dr Maureen I'm planning a holiday with my husband to one of the beaches in South Africa. I'm currently pregnant and I would like to add SPF (sun protection factor ) to my beauty regime. Please recommend an SPF that would be safe for me and my baby.

Answer

Thanks so much for your question. Thankfully, when it comes to sun blocks, they are designed to stay on the skin’s surface to be able to protect the skin from the sun. So there aren’t any active ingredients that need to be absorbed deep into the skin as there are with serums and active moisturisers. If you want a really good product that is going to protect you, I highly recommend the Heliocare sun protection range. Enjoy your holiday at the beach and all of the very best with your pregnancy.
