And unfortunately, once the barrier is “broken”, it doesn’t matter what you try to do or treat on the skin, nothing is going to work because that skin is just too sensitive and cannot handle anything active. So what we have to do is FIRST fix that barrier so that your skin can properly heal and recover, and then you can start using more active products and treatments and focus on specific concerns. In my experience the best thing for you to do is to get yourself onto barrier restoring products that are going to moisturise the skin while calming it down.
