Question: Silicone

Hi I have heard that silicone helps with fine/limp hair by giving it moisture and on the other hand i have read that silicone is not good for hair at all. Please advise

Answer

This one is bit of catch because yes silicone can be bad for the hair but then at the same time it depends on where you got it from, the brand and the combined ingredients in the product. Most companies with cheaper products tend to use and ingredient called sand plastic whih when you heat style your hair can cause alot of damage. Putting any oil on fine hair can create problems beause it might way your hair down even more and then you’ll have a problem with needing to clear your hair of the oils. Try a leave in spray that you can apply after you have shamooed your hair and then move on to a cream if you feel you still havent recieved enough nourishment. As for the oils, the new argon oil trend is going somewhere with avoiding the use of sand plastics so you can try one of those instead of a regular silicone.
