Question: Skin Problems

What is a shimmer powder used for? I have very oily skin, what kind of foundation can I use that won't make my skin oily?

Answer

Thank you for your question. Shimmer powder is used when you are going out, or for a special occasion to add some shine and glow and radiance to your "make-up". If you place it where you place a highlighter, like on top of the apple of your cheeks, it will make you look like you have prominent cheekbones, or highlight them further if you have high ones. Another tip is to use a dot of shimmer powder on the centre of your lower lip, over gloss if you want to look like you have fuller lips.
If you are worried about your make-up or foundation making you look oily you can consider the following: At Skin Renewal we offer Heliocare compact SPF 50, which is a high SPF daily photoprotective covering make-up which is easy to reapply during the day and it will not make your skin oily. Or we can offer you Lycogel breathable camouflage which has an SPF of 30. If you are suffering with oiliness in general and not necesarily looking for a cover product, one of our brands that we stock for oiliness, Lamelle, offers an oral supplement called Acnevelle, which is a zinc supplement for the control of oily skintypes. You can safely use any of these options and still use your shimmer powder over these without any issues.
