Question: Split Ends

I get split ends quite often even though I get my hair trimmed at least every 3 months and regularly use conditioner as well as an oil treatment. Any advice?

Answer

Hello Debbie

A split runs up the hair shaft, up to 5cm from the tip to the root and when you get your hair trimmed, you might not be taking off enough. The best way to combat this is to take off a little more than you usually do (in one go) and then let your hair grow for a while before having it trimmed at a later stage. Often we don’t take off enough and the ends split even more. Unfortunately there are no external ways to repair your ends although you might be able to smooth them out. It might be time to consider a really good hair cut or you might not be able to get rid of your split ends.
