Question: Very Dry Feet

Dear Dr Allem, I have trouble with extreme dry feet, i am a diabetic. I struggle with cracked heels and also skin bursting open under my toes witch is very painfull. Is there any treatment for this that you can suggest? Regards Hantie

Answer

Dear Hantie. Thanks so much for your enquiry. I’m so sorry to hear you’re having this issue. I have found that the best combination of things to do in a case like this is to have a monthly pedicure to maintain the feet (we can incorporate medi-heel and various moisturising active products for you), and then at home, on a daily basis (every night before you go to bed), you apply Neostrata’s Problem Dry Skin Cream. It will take a couple of weeks for you to start seeing and feeling the results, but I’ve had nothing but good results from patients who are using this product at home for their feet. I use it myself and I really find it very helpful for that extreme dry skin on the feet.
