BB cream is basically a moisturiser that treats your skin while offering light coverage. It can be used as a foundation, concealer, tinted moisturiser etc. and some of them contain an SPF which will offer sufficient sun protection. You can use it as a means of coverage (instead of foundation), but it all depends on how clear your skin is – if you have pigmentation or breakouts you may finda BB cream does not offer enough coverage.
