What make-up look can you suggest for winter. Which colours are hot?

Answer

Winter make-up trends this year are one of my favourite make-up looks – the barely there, fresh face. Think soft skin, long lashes, rosy pink cheeks and pretty lips.
I love this look because it is low maintainence, and very natural.

Here’s how to do it:

Use a sheer tinted moisturiser; this will give the skin a light coverage and maintain the softness that a moisturiser offers.
Apply a liquid foundation only to the areas you feel you need extra coverage.
Thick eyebrows are a huge trend on the runway: to create an illusion of thicker eyebrows, select an eyeshadow colour one shade darker than your eyebrow colour and draw in lines in short strokes along the eyebrows.
For the eyes, either go bare or use a cream eye shadow in the same colour as your skin tone. Finish off the eyes with mascara.
Apply a cream blush in pink to the apples of the cheeks and blend upwards towards the ears.
Bronzer is optional – dust very lightly on the outside edges of the face and the bridge of the nose (between the eyes).
There are different looks for the lips this winter. Some designers have chosen dark red lips whilst others have used a nude. I love to ‘stain’ the lips by just dabbing a soft crimson red onto the lips to make the lips look flushed.
