Spring Scent Explosion

Wednesday, 5 October 2011

Spring is the season for all things new and lovely and what better way to mark the occasion than a gorgeous new scent? It’s a spring scent explosion with so many delicious new fragrances to choose from! It was hard, but we’ve come up with four of the best – and when to wear them.

Jimmy Choo EDP 40ml, R455 (available at Edgars stores only).

Jimmy Choo Perfume
Wear some Jimmy to the office

Take inspiration from shoe mogul and business tycoon, Tamara Mellon and wear some ‘Jimmy’ to the office. At the heart of this scent is sexy Tiger Orchid and while this floral hero note makes it an incredibly feminine fragrance, toffee and Indonesian Patchouli give it lingering warmth.

Kim Kardashian Gold EDP 100ml, R595 (available at leading retailers nationwide).

Kim Kardashian Gold will up your sexy quota

You have to admit, KK’s got that siren thing going on. If you need to up your sexy quota, then spritz on a little of her newbie, Gold. Think of it as a beautiful bouquet of flowers: jasmine, rose and violet make up the heart notes of the scent. And as for that sexy factor, musk adds some serious sensuality.

Molton Brown Rogart (part of the Navigation Through Scent collection) 50ml, R920 (available at Edgars and Stuttafords stores).

The buzz term here is ‘gender neutral’, so that means you and your guy can play scent-match with this fragrance. As it’s classed as a “woody fresh” scent (fir balsam is the main ingredient) its easy to wear yet distinctive: perfect when you’re off-duty but want to spray on something special.

Issey Miyake L’Eau D’Issey Gold Absolute? Limited Edition EDP Absolu 50ml, R865 (available at Edgars and Red Square stores, on counter from November).

Issey Miyake Gold Absolute is perfect for the party season

Why not up the festive spirit with something truly indulgent? After all, ’tis soon the season to be jolly! Candied apricot has been combined with lotus, Miyake’s signature keynote, to bring a little festive cheer to this classic fragrance. Add to that, white flowers, jasmine, lily, amber and woody base notes and you have a scent that’s perfect for the party season!

If these don’t take your fancy, have a look at what the stars wear for some more inspiration.
