French Fashion designer Edmond ‘Ted’ Lapidus was considered the creator and pioneer of the unisex fashion look. Now the Ted Lapidus brand is primarily known for its fashion accessories (think stunning watches) and fragrances. Three of Ted Lapidus’s iconic fragrances include Pour Homme, BlackSoul, and WhiteSoul.
Ted Lapidus Pour Homme
Ted Lapidus Pour Homme has been around since 1987 (which in a highly competitive market, is saying something). That’s a good 25 years Lapidus has been making the modern man smell good! This is a classic oriental fragrance for the man who loves a bold yet non-overpowering scent. Top notes of pineapple, juniper berries, basil and lemon linger while middle notes of pine tree, honey and jasmine, and base notes of sandalwood, amber and musk settle in a warm, masculine scent.

In 2009 Ted Lapidus launched BlackSoul – a fragrance of desire. This male fragrance is the epitome of luxury and is made up of notes of mint, cardamom, neroli, bergamot, cinnamon, saffron, Chinese cedar and musk.

And like any good fashion designer, Ted Lapidus didn’t forget the ladies. WhiteSoul joined his collection of perfumes at the end of 2010. It is a light fragrance which stands in contrast to the masculine version, BlackSoul. Top notes of apricot, mandarin and marigold intertwine with orange blossom and saffron where the base notes of amber and tonka can be found. It is beautifully packaged in a pearly white bottle with gold detail. And doesn’t she look sensational in that dress?

Ted Lapidus fragrances are available from Edgars, Truworths, Woolworths, Foschini, and Stuttafords stores nationwide.
