We put GAP’s new fragrances ‘stay’ and

Wednesday, 5 October 2011

GAP have always sold fresh-smelling, easy to wear fragrances, but they were hard to get hold of as they weren’t available in South Africa. Now, however, as Stuttafords stocks the clean, casual line, they’re selling the scents too.

We passed the two female fragrances, ‘stay’ and ‘close’, around the office to get a few opinions on what they smelled like:

gap-stay, fragrance
GAP stay eau de toilette

What GAP says:
Stay is a watery floral fragrance with green floral top notes, a heart of blue lotus, white peony and bluebell with a amber, musk, sandalwood and driftwood base.

What the office thinks:
I love it! Its so fresh and it smells expensive.

It’s nice and fresh – like you’ve just got out of the shower. It’s the kind of fresh citrus you could wear everyday.

I like this one best. It’s got a nice, clean smell.

Is there grapefruit in this? I like that it’s light and not sweet.

This disappears to fast. Stay doesn’t ‘stay’ at all…

It’s nice and citrusy and not very floral. I can smell orange.

This is too light. It just smells like you’ve gotten out of a bubble bath…

I like that it’s subtle, like fresh ocean mist. Would be great to use after gym.

GAP close eau de toilette

What GAP says:
Close is a transparent sparkling citrus floral. It’s got sparkling water and salty citrus top notes, a gentle floral heart and rests on a creamy, sensual bed of sandalwood, musk, vanilla and amber.

What the office thinks:
It makes me think of licorice – not the black stuff, but the coloured sweets…

This is too sweet for me.

This is lovely – like clean babies. I wouldn’t wear it though. Clean babies are nice, but you don’t want to smell like that on a date.

Am I the only one who thinks this smells citrusy?

I love this one. It’s soft and feminine.

I can smell coconut. It makes me want to get closer.

I wouldn’t wear this. It just smells like your skin after you’ve gotten out of the shower.

It’s nice and light. Great for everyday.

Want to sniff stay or close, R299 for 50ml, for yourself? They’re available exclusively at Stuttafords stores.
