Combat winter frizz

If you’re prone to frizz, you probably dread going out when it’s raining, and brushing your hair is a nightmare. Though our hair is complex in its structure, the formation of frizz is quite simple. Our hair consists of three layers, and the outer layer (the cuticle) is where frizz originates. Instead of lying flat, this layer lifts, causing frizz. This is usually due to dehydration, and is aggravated by brushing, towel-drying and heat.

A few simple things you can do to prevent or minimise your frizz includes adding lots of hydration to your hair in the form of conditioners and hair masks, never towel-drying your hair, staying away from harsh chemicals in hair products, being careful with heat styling and combing your dry hair with wet fingers instead of a brush or comb.

  1. I luckily don’t struggle with that but I do get static hair every now and then in winter so I just apply one or two pumps of Moroccan Oil to my hair in the morning and that prevents the problem.

  2. If you aren’t supposed to towel dry frizzy hair then what is the best method to dry it? I tend to stay away from blow dryers.
