The latest hair tools and accessories

Thursday, 19 June 2014

A styling tool or hair accessory can work wonders in transforming your locks. Whether you’re into curls, sleek and straight, or up-styles, there’s an item out there that will help you get the look you want. Here, five of our favourite new styling tools and hair accessories.

The latest hair tools and accessories

ghd Bird of Paradise collection, R2380
How stunning are the latest limited edition stylers from ghd? Inspired by the tropical colours seen on the runways, they are available in two shades, Sunset and Lagoon. A lovely way to spoil yourself and the perfect gift for someone special!

Veaudry My Curl, R1790
One of the easiest-to-use little tools, this curling iron incorporates Tourmaline (a semi-precious crystal) to heat the hair from within, thereby shortening styling time. It comes with a heat-resistant comb so you can separate your hair without burning your hands, as well as a protective glove for your fingers.

Vidal Sassoon Infra Radiance Straightener, R399
Faster, kinder and radiant – this new straightener uses infrared technology to distribute heat more evenly throughout the hair, so less damage gets done. The extra wide plates mean you see the results faster, and the temperature adjustor allows you to select the perfect heat.

Invisibobble Pastellicious range, R80
We’ve come to love the Invisibobble for keeping our ponytails secure without damaging or hurting our hair, and now they’re available in a range of stunning pastel colours. We love the Sand Tropez (orange) and Spring Fling (pink) shades.

evo Mister Fantastic Hair Bungee, R145
Wrap these little ties around your hair and secure the hooks to hold your ponytail, braid or bun in place. Ideal for anyone who’s worried about damage caused by hair elastics!

I am addicted to my Invisible Bobbles. I have blonde hair and I use the clear one. I find that it doesn’t hurt to take it out, no broken hair ever comes off with the tie and it spreads the weight evenly so my pony tail no longer gives me a headache :)

I would love to try out the Veaudry curler which looks similar to a Babyliss one that I currently have. My only problem with a product like this is that it’s suited for hair that isn’t longer than where your shoulder blades end because of the short wand.

Where can one get their hands on an evo Mister Fantastic Hair Bungee from? Traditional hairbands are rather abrasive on my hair. I’d be keen to try it and see the difference. The Lagoon ghd looks so pretty!!!

I wonder if Evo Mister Fantastic Hair Bungee & Invisibobble can be used on black hair?

Hi Andrea, the Hair Bungee & Invisibobble would be used in place of a hair band. If you normally tie your hair up, there is no reason why these wouldn’t work for you.

I would love to try the Vidal Sassoon Infra Radiance Straightener. It is affordable, so I wonder if it works as well?
