Five ways to beat the Sunday night blues

Everyone knows the dreaded feeling you get when the Carte Blanche theme song starts playing on a Sunday night… Your weekend is over, and Monday (and a whole week of school) lies ahead. Don’t despair! We’ve got five fun activities you can do to not only beat the Sunday night blues, but go to bed in a great mood too!

Chick flick
Gather your mom, sister and girlfriends, and put on your favourite feel-good chick flick. It’ll put you in a great mood and it’s bound to make you laugh too.

Pamper sesh
Now, we know you can’t have painted nails and funky hairstyles for school, but you can still indulge in a bit of pampering on a Sunday night. Have a bubble bath, exfoliate and apply a rich body cream, and take the time to apply a face mask. You’ll feel body beautiful and ready for a new week!

Cook your favourite dish
Whether it’s pizza, pasta or hamburgers, make Sunday night your comfort food night. It’s something to look forward to, and a little spoil will ease you into the end of the weekend.

Play a game
We know it sounds lame, but old school games like Twister, Monopoly and Pictionary are a great pick-me-up. Switch the TV off and get the family involved – you’ll be amazed at how much fun you’ll have.

Make time to read your favourite magazine
After homework, chores and socialising, you might find that by the time you get to bed you’re too exhausted to read your latest magazine. Put a couple of hours aside on a Sunday evening to catch up on your favourite glossies – you’ll fall asleep feeling inspired by all the interesting things you read.
