We finally got to try Heroine!

Tuesday, 10 November 2015

The matte lipstick trend is here to stay and MAC has some of our all time favourites. From nudes, to reds, to purples and blues, they really give off great colour that lasts all day long.

There is one thing to keep in mind when purchasing a matte lippie from MAC – some are retro matte, and others just plain matte. The difference?

Retro Matte is extremely matte and therefore gives off the most intense colour, however this formula is drying. If you have ever tried Ruby Woo, you will understand how amazing the colour pay off is but it may leave your lips slightly dry.

The matte colours still gives off great colour but they feel slightly creamier on the lips. Heroine is one of our favourite matte shades and is a beautiful bright purple.

Which matte or retro matte shades from MAC can you not live without?

Heroine is a lovely colour. I’m personally not a fan of extremely bright colours but if you have the confidence to pull this colour off, go for it! Its stunning and extremely flattering on most skintones

I find that Mac lipsticks are applied much better with a lip brush than straight from the stick. Love them!

Ruby Woo has to be ultimate favourite, the colour intensity is amazing. key to avoiding your lips from drying out is to moisturize properly prior to applying your lipstick, i find that vaseline actually is the easiest and least expensive alternative.

I cannot live without the Candy Yum-Yum and Ruby Woo shades. They just pop and complete a look…and an outfit. MAC lipstick and makeup just gives you a confidence boost and flawless look

I’ve tried Ruby Woo and Sin and they both provide amazing color but it dries your lips out unfortunately. Key is to exfoliate your lips prior to applying any matte lipstick or try Mac’s lipstick primer, it helps a lot

The red shade looks gorgeous. It would be nice if the Retro Matte shades didn’t dry your lips though.

Interesting, what are the chances of Mac improving their formula so to prevent dry lips?

Cant go without the very deep, intense red shade. Very glamourous especially when paired up with smokey eyes.
