Clarins Bright Plus Brightening Hydrating Day Lotion SPF20

Clarins Bright Plus Brightening Hydrating Day Lotion is a smooth fluid with a fine texture that melts into the skin, leaving it radiant, with a matte finish, all day long. It brightens and evens the skin’s complexion, whilst protecting it against UV rays and harmful environmental factors.

What we say:
If you are as pedantic as I am about UV protection then this product is an absolute must try. The thin texture of the fluid absorbs quickly into my skin, leaving it feeling fresh and nourished. I love the fact that is has an SPF of 20 in it and that it is light enough to be worn under my make-up. I use it as a primer as my foundation seems to last longer – and it makes the application easier and smoother. By the end of the day my face is still matte and perfect.

And it smells so fresh as it is enriched with Sea Lilly and Alchemilla extracts.

  1. i had such high hopes for this one, i purchased the trio, hoping it with brighten up my skin. the first day i used it felt lovely, but towards the end of the day it left my skin feeling oily and ugly as i had broke out. i thought if i carried on using it maybe my skin would react differently and get used to the texture, but unfortunately not it just left my skin with the breakouts, maybe its because i have highly sensitive skin. however the night cream and the bright plus serum seemed to help ease my skin at night. this is so a no no for me

  2. Clarins Bright Plus Brightening Hydrating Day Lotion SPF 20 seemed like a brilliant solution for my sun damaged uneven complexion and dehydrated skin. Unfortunately it is not hydrating enough to quench my ever thirsty skin. To me Clarins Hydrating Day Lotion SPF 20 is more like a sunscreen with an added moisturiser than visa versa. From application and absorption to fragrance it reminds me of a good quality facial sunscreen. It is great for days when I know I will be out and about as I trust the UV protection will do its job, but for everyday use it just does not deliver enough moisture to my skin. At R 595 for 50 ml it is pretty expensive for a sunscreen so I will not be repurchasing this product.

  3. In terms of moisturising, its excellent for summer/spring, though I do not find it very moisturising during winter. Absorbs well without leaving a oily residue. Over time the skin looks slightly brighter and glowing. I feel its way over priced considering the spf is not high enough for summer.

  4. I have high expectations for certain brands because of the research and technology that I know go into formulating their products. I do not believe the hype any product has and honestly don’t expect the “miracle in a bottle” claims companies make. I enjoyed using this product not because it lightened pigmentation marks or significantly brightened anything but because it was so comfortable on my skin. I found the Clarins Plus Brightening Hydrating Day Lotion spf 20( that name!!)absorbed well into my skin, helped my foundation/BB cream look better , when I was too lazy to apply a primer, and while the spf 20 was too low for my liking I felt protected from harmful UV rays while in the sun.

I suffer from pigmentation on neck only due to two pregnancies and I did notice the darkness has faded slightly. There has been no marked improvement on my face.

I so wish this product came in a high spf because it would be perfect, but going into summer I will probably have to look another product with spf 50. look forward to using this winter 2016 ;)
