  1. Let me start this review off with a confession: I do not own this product. I used it while I was at my cousin’s house before an event, so my experience is based off that one time. Having generally fine, limp hair, curls usually last for a maximum of about 2 hours. I’ve also suffered from a bad case of split ends so I am weary of hair tools that get too hot and damage the hair. This product had even heat throughout the barrel.
Using the wave wand, my curls lasted the whole night and still looked fabulous the next morning. I do not feel that it damaged my hair (although I did squirt on a generous amount of TreSemme’s Heat Protector Spray) beforehand. It was a great product overall and I would definitely recommend it.
That said, when compared to the wand that I DO own, it still pales in comparison. It is not widely available in South Africa but if you do get your hands on a NuMe wand, you will see that it is superior to the gHd one, but is also more expensive.

  2. I’ve never been a fan of curling irons, as I can never get the curl just right, and I end up burning my fingers terribly in the process. I was excited to try this new wand from ghd, as I know it contains a new type of heat technology that provides even heat throughout the barrel, and keeps it at an optimal temperature. This wand from the ghd Curve range is designed for loose curls and long waves. It took me a while to get the curling action just right – at the beginning I struggled a little bit, but after some practice, I became an expert, and I was a lot quicker too. The wand is a great shape and sits comfortably in your hand, plus I love that there’s a little heat-resistant part in the front where you can rest your fingers while holding your curl in place. For thinner pieces, I found my curl set after about 8 seconds, but for thicker seconds I had to hold the hair for about double that time. I was very impressed by how well the curls held. Normally if I curl my hair for an event it falls flat after about 3 hours, but when using this wand, my curls last a whole day. Another thing that makes it very clever is the little piece of plastic that you can rest it on when you put it down on a surface. I’m thoroughly impressed with the product and I can’t wait to try some of the other stylers in the new Curve range too!
