  1. My pores where making my foundation look terrible and I needed to some how fix the problem, I saw a few Youtubers I follow using primer and decided to give it a try. I chose the Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer and it’s is awesome. It comes in a tube form with a small opening. When applying, I make a 1cm long strip on my finger and apply to the areas I’m most worried about and from there spread it out. It feels great on the skin, no oilyness, not even on my hands. It spreads forever. That little bit covers my whole face and I can see the difference when my foundation is on. I would recommend this product any day. It’s available at Clicks for R200 at the moment and I feel that it’s worth the money.

  2. This primer provides a good base with which to start applying the rest of your makeup. Foundation then glides on easily and stays put throughout the day. Try waiting a few minutes in between before applying the next product, to enable the skin to absorb the product well otherwise it tends to feel cakey.

  3. I just finished my first bottle of this primer, and I’m absolutely going to re-purchase. I love the texture of this primer and just the way it so easily goes onto my skin and smooths it out. i used this in combination with my Revlon ColorStay Foundation, and they worked amazing together, definitely lasted the day. I’m not disappointed at all with this product.

  4. I must be honest, I was so suprised by this product. It made my make up last the whole day. I also tried the purple toned one, and I love the product.

  5. I really do love this product, it covers well and does what its suppose to do but I’ve noticed I have more acne breakouts now that I’ve started using this product. I would still recommend this product to those who have acne and breakout problems but I suggest you only use it on special occasions. I have combination skin so if you have this type be very careful with everyday use and keep an eye on your skin. Otherwise this is an amazing product and I suggest it to everyone.

  6. The Revlon Photoready Perfecting primer really took me by surprise. It covered/hid all my fine lines on and around my eyes and also help keep my eyeshadow looking great ! i am absolutely impressed. I can’t choose between Mac Primer and Revlon today! #beautyGuruProblems

  7. On receiving the Revlon Photo Ready Primer I felt hopeful that this could be an affordable primer as the primers I have used before have all been quite expensive but definitely worth the price.

The glass container with pump and clear plastic lid looks professional but I think the container is slightly too heavy to carry around in my make-up bag.

One push of the pump gives you way more product than you should be using but other than that the pump works well. The colour is almost-white, very light pink shade (I used 001). The consistency is not what I was expecting (I was expecting a serum which has been my previous experience with primers). This one feels like a mix between cream and gel. The smell put me off a little bit, it had a strange, almost chemical smell which thankfully disappeared after application.

The cream is easy to apply, goes on smoothly and at first felt like it would sink into my skin. Unfortunately this is where my positive experience with this product ends. I tried it both with and without foundation (as suggested on the packaging). When used without make-up it really didn’t make a difference at all, I couldn’t find one benefit of using it. When used under foundation I was even less impressed, my foundation went on streaky, struggled to blend in (which it usually doesn’t) and if anything it made my foundation last for a shorter time than usual.

Unfortunately, I will not be recommending this to anyone as I feel like it didn’t deliver on any of my expectations of a primer.
