I never considered using a retinol product until I became fed up with breakouts and the scars they leave behind. My skin therapist suggested using this product once a week on my problem areas to decrease the frequency and severity of my breakouts, and also to treat the inflammation scarring that old ones have left behind. When I first started using it I wasn’t happy because it made my skin peel terribly. My therapist assured me that this was normal, and that it was peeling because the retinol was exfoliating all the dry and dead skin cells, just at a rapid rate.
The longer I used it, the more my skin got used to it, and the less severe the peeling was. But more than anything, the product actually did what it promised. With regular use my scarring gradually became lighter and after time completely faded. I started having less breakouts in those areas and overall my skin was clearer, brighter and smoother. I couldn’t believe that I finally found a product that exceeded all my expectations!
I know that this is also used as a treatment for fine lines and wrinkles. I haven’t been using it for this purpose, but from what I’ve read, retinol is a very effective anti-ageing ingredient, so I am confident that it would work for that as well. If you’re able to invest in some good quality skincare to get your skin in top shape, I would definitely recommend trying this product!
