What we say:
I’m not the biggest fan of beauty products with waxy consistencies, but I gave this one a try as I am so over the moon with the rest of The Body Shop’s Chamomile range. I have mixed feelings about it. I like that it’s super gentle and that it doesn’t cause any stinging whatsoever. I also like that it’s safe to use on my eyes, and that it removes every trace of make-up on my skin.

What I don’t like about it, is the texture. Although the wax glides and moves easily on my skin, it leaves it feeling, well, waxy. And I struggle to remove that residue off my eye area afterwards. As an oily-skinned girl I like a “clean” feeling and I absolutely hate an oily or waxy residue on my skin. I think girls with drier skin would love this, but unfortunately it’s not for me.

  1. I love this product! It is so gentle, yet it gets all your make-up off. I use this first to loosen all the makeup then I go in with a face wipe. It’s perfect!

  2. Albeit a bit pricey, this is an incredibly gentle butter than melts on contact with skin, turning into an oil and then forming droplets on the face, which can then be tissued off or rinsed. It’s gentle on the skin but can leave normal skin feeling a bit greasy, and a toner may be required after. That aside, it cleanses nicely and is a must for winter and dry dehydrated skins.

  3. This cleanser is very similar to the one Clinique had a few years back. A thick solid wax that emulsifies and softens on contact with skin and melts off makeup. On contact with water it forms milky droplets which can be massaged in and then wiped off. I felt a second cleanse was required despite a very gentle cleanse as my eye makeup did not come off clean. I still love it and this will be my winter save as a pre-cleanser.

  4. So I was absolutely waiting for this product, because it’s a balm in a super cute vintage tin which you use to remove your make up.  This cleansing butter has just hit the shelves and I promise… This range is here to stay!

Firstly I love my make up, but not when it’s clogging my pores, which is why it is very important to always clean your face and remove make up thoroughly. This Camomile Cleansing Butter is very handy when it comes to keeping skin feeling and looking amazing! I absolutely adore the tin which the Camomile Cleansing Butter comes in, it’s a strong metal tin which looks absolutely vintage. The lid is a screw on lid and the lid has a white sticker which contains details about the products. I won’t lie, as soon as I opened the tin, that lovely dreamy scent just hit me.

The Camomile Cleansing Butter has a refreshing camomile scent, because the product contains Community Fair Trade camomile. I promise you that once you get the smell of the Camomile Cleansing Butter, you’ll find every excuse in the book to wash your face! The Camomile Cleansing Butter is meant for all skin types, however I was a bit worried because I have quite oily skin. The Camomile Cleansing Butter looks more like a balm or a hair wax in a tin because of the white colour and the look of the butter.

The Camomile Cleansing Butter information states that the product melts away impurities and removes all traces of make up. The Camomile Cleansing Butter should be massaged on dry skin and then removed by either rinsing the product off or using a warm muslin cloth. The Camomile Cleansing Butter is quite creamy looking, however you only need to swipe your fingers across to get a smooth and silky oily feeling on your finger tips which you massage onto your skin, believe me… It removes waterproof mascara like magic.

I’m really impressed with the Camomile Cleansing Butter because it didn’t irritate my sensitive skin or my sensitive eyes, the product is both dermatologically and ophthalmologically tested! I absolutely love the way my skin felt afterwards, my skin felt refreshed, clean and soft and smooth as well as hydrated, but without the oily feeling. I’m going crazy about this Camomile Cleansing Butter and hopefully I can get more products from this range, mainly because the products are absolutely gentle yet so effective.

I’d really recommend you give this product a try!

  5. This is the first “cleansing butter” I have ever used and I LOVE IT. It is mild in scent but effective in cleansing. It doesn’t sting your eyes if you get some in them and it can dissolve gel eyeliner, two coats of mascara and eye shadow with little effort. It leaves my skin feeling clean but soft and luxurious. Sometimes I massage this into my skin and let it sit for two minutes before washing it off. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to experiment with cleansing butters but not keen to spend too much.
