African Extracts Rooibos Advantage SPF15 Hand and Nail Cream

My two weeks with African Extracts Rooibos Hand Cream

This is the perfectly sized hand cream for the handbag. I am obsessed with sun protection so the fact that this is the first hand cream with SPF that I have ever used got me quite excited. I’m that person that puts on SPF on the back of my hands every time I get into my car.

The packaging is rather pretty but I would prefer a flip cap instead of a twisty one, mostly because I tend to drop the cap quite often when using the product in a rush, so it would be more convenient.

Now, I wash my hands very often and the skin on my hands are especially thirsty. I tend to apply hand cream twice after hand washing just to get the right amount of hydration that I need. This hand and nail cream gave me just the right amount of moisture I needed without having to reapply a few minutes later. Plus, it doesn’t leave a greasy film on the hands that some heavier but more effective hand creams tend to do.

My only problem with this hand cream is the scent. Having used some of the African Extract products in the past, I’m not unfamiliar with the signature scent which is rather pleasant, only that this hand cream seems to be the most potent which I don’t enjoy. It completely overpowers my perfume but luckily the scent softens after about 20 minutes or so.

The Body Shop’s Honey Bronze Highlighting Dome

I am such a fan of The Body Shop and this highlighting dome doesn’t disappoint.
The packaging is cute and functional which is fantastic. I like to sweep this in a C shape from my temples onto my cheekbones. Then I either blend it in with my fingers or a brush and it leaves a gorgeous, sheer shimmer that just looks like dewy, fresh skin.

I also like to draw this along my collarbone to add a bit of highlight there. Not so great for the lips though, I find it a bit too pasty.

All in all, this is just as good as my NARS Multiple stick which is so much more pricier so I leave that at home for weekend use and am happy to stick this highlighter in my gym bag for weekday makeup applications.

Morgan Taylor Midnight Masquerade Collection

Pretty colours

I like all of them, excluding the green. The shimmery, glittery shades are actually quite nice. I’m not often a fan of such nail polishes but these look classy because of how fine the shiny bits are. I’d be interested to know if they’re a pain to remove though. I’m sure many girls can agree that removing glitter polish is such a hassle.

Magic in a bottle

The scent of this product is incredible and very soothing at the same time. It’s quite oily, so be careful not to apply it too close to the eyes or the product will creep. I don’t mind that it’s greasy because it’s meant to be applied at night. What I do is apply this about half an hour before bed and then lightly dab my face with tissue just before I sleep so that I don’t end up transferring too much product onto my sheets. My skin is plump, radiant and so soft in the morning, It’s a small bottle but a little goes a long way, so it’s worth the spend.

The Body Shop Vit E Body Butter

Body Shop Vitamin E Body Butter

I used the Vitamin E range on my face for a good couple of years, so I’m familiar with the range. This body butter is fantastic. I love that it goes on quite heavily and is rich, but after a few seconds of rubbing it in, it all sinks into your skin without any greasiness at all. I have dry skin that needs extra care in winter, so this coupled with a few sprays of The Body Shop’s Argan Oil Spray and my skin is hydrated and glowing.

MAC Cosmetics Haute & Naughty Too Black Lash

Smart product

I got this as a gift about 2 years ago and love the two brushes – it’s so smart!
The one pink lid defines lashes and the other one thickens it for a dramatic look. My only problem is that I wish it came in a waterproof option, as I can only wear that.
I have thin, straight lashes that don’t curl regardless of product or tool, so it’s a pity that I won’t ever buy this until it comes out with a waterproof alternative.
