Seeing as I have no prior experience with a gel liner, I can’t compare it to other brands. That being said, I will try and give you the best feedback I can as I first time user as well as a contact lens wearer.

I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to purchase and try out this liner. On the pic it actually looks black, but when I received it and on closer inspection, it is actually a soft black (or grey) liner, which I think is a good thing as it allowed me the chance to test the visual appearance of a ‘softer’ color option as I tend to always go for deep intense blacks.

On first appearances, the pot is really small, and so is the brush, but once I got the hang of it, the brush is actually perfect for application, as well as getting the product out of the pot (if it were any bigger I would have a problem).

I find that the gel liner has a really nice soft and creamy consistency, this makes for easy application as the formula just glides over my lids. It took me a few attempts to get the hang of it (and things got a bit messy), but once I got it right, I was pretty pleased with the results.

This is a gel liner right, so it did not appear dried out to me, so I was confused as to why during the course of the day I sort of had a fall out of blackish flakes around my eye area. This is a big no for me as I wear contacts and there is nothing more irritating (and sometimes painful) than having to extricate a black clump or flake of eye make up out of my eye. For this reason alone, I will not repurchase this product.

Over all, I think It is a really good quality from a great make up house, I just don’t think it’s for me. So therefore I would only give it 2/5 starts for effectiveness as it just didn’t do it for me. And not to mention I prefer intense blacks, The grey sort of makes my eyes look flat.
