I have never owned any Inglot products before and was very excited to try new products and get the chance to be taught all about contouring by a make-up artist.

I went to the Canal Walk stand-alone store for my contouring lesson, which I would highly recommend. I have never really done contouring and have always thought that firstly that it would be too tricky to try. Secondly, I wasn’t really sure what the point was. The lesson was incredibly informative and done in such a way that I feel I could re-create the look myself, which is an absolute must when it comes to make-up lessons. The make-up artist I was with was incredibly professional, patient and answered all my questions along the way. As far as contouring goes, I’m not convinced that it’s worth the extra effort of introducing it into my daily routine, but I will definitely give it a try on the next special occasion.

Before I get to the HD product line, let me just fill you in on how the rest of their make-up works. Basically, instead of buying a palette of colours (eye shadow, lip-gloss etc.) and only ever using your favourite colour, at Inglot you are able to build your own palette. You can even choose to have two eye shadows, one lip-gloss and one concealer- you are completely in control of your palette!

Okay, back to the product. The new HD foundation that Inglot has just launched has a number of benefits; it is suitable for all skin types, is oil free and creates a flawless finish you can build depending on the coverage you want. Two of my favourite features of the product are the texture (super smooth, easy to apply and blends beautifully) and the pump action of the bottle pumps from the bottom (it’s tricky to describe, but basically you will never be left with that little bit of product you can’t get to in the bottom of the bottle). I found that the foundation lasted all day (note I was also wearing their make-up base). Two things which weren’t great for me personally was that it doesn’t contain any SPF. The reason for this is to allow photographers etc., to use it and it won’t affect their photos but for me, I like to keep my routine as simple as possible and I like knowing that my foundation has some SPF in it. The second thing I was slightly disappointed by was the range of colours of foundation. I found the range somewhat limited, which meant that I wasn’t able to find the perfect match for my skin tone.

All in all, I loved trying the new HD foundation, and even more than that, I learned so much from my make-up lesson. I would definitely recommend you pop into an Inglot stand-alone store or one of their stands in Edgars to have a chat with one of their friendly make-up artists.
