I have tested all the lip scrubs at Lush, but my favourite one is the caramel and popcorn flavoured lip scrub. Now, prior to this I had never heard of a lip scrub and I can’t say I ever scrubbed my lips with anything. I tried out a lip scrub at Lush and realized afterwards how smooth my lips were! And they taste delicious.

Lip scrubs are great for when your lips are dry and flaking. They are made up usually of a peppermint oil or other oils mixed with brown sugar (which is more coarse than white sugar). You take a small amount on your finger and rub it on your lips, as if you were brushing your teeth, but instead you’re brushing your lips. Obviously you don’t apply too much pressure, as you don’t want to damage your lips. You also don’t want to do this too often, or you’ll strip your lips.

Why are lip scrubs used?
Since matte lipsticks are quite popular these days, it also means that they aren’t the most moisturizing lip products. They can dry out your lips quite a bit and matte lipstick looks awful on chapped lips, so it’s usually a good idea to make sure your lips are exfoliated before applying matte lipsticks to allow for the application to look and feel better.

Packaging:
The lip scrub comes in a small 25g glass pot with a plastic screw on lid. The product should last a while, as you’re only exfoliating every few days and not every day.

Do you NEED this product? No. A tooth brush does the same trick, but what the tooth brush doesn’t have is nourishing oils and a delicious taste.
