Today I popped into theTwo Oceans Aquarium to attend the launch of an interesting new skincare brand called Polaar. Look at the great view we got to sit next to during the talk…
Created by Daniel Kurbiel, a second generation polar explorer, Polaar makes use of several unusual plants that are found in extremely cold parts of the world – think Syberia and Antarctica. After becoming fascinated with these plants and their ability to survive the most extreme weather conditions, Daniel investigated their properties and found that most of them are riddled with great antioxidants and would make for a great skincare range, namely Polaar.
I got to play with some of the Polaar goodies and liked the line’s simple packaging; light, non-greasy formulas and fresh, clean-smelling scents. We’ll be getting a couple of items later on this week and I look forward to putting them to the test for a later review.
Once the presentation was over, we got to take a quick squizz around the aquarium before heading back to the office.
I’m particularly proud of my jelly fish and penguin snaps:
Ooh! And see this giant padda?
I got quite excited and into it while snapping he’s piccie ‘cos, well, he’s huge and awesome-looking… so you can only imagine how much of a skrik I got when it started WAVING at me! Turns out it was a bloody robot… (Yes, I’m that much of a toffolux…)
Currently, Polaar is stocked at selected Foschini stores.
