Bramley Argan Oil & Macadamia Gifts from Nature Body Butter, R17.99

What they say: Treat your skin to the therapeutic nourishment of Nature’s richest oils. This unique blend of argan oil and macadamia oil has a luxurious silky feel and is quickly absorbed. The restorative combination improves skin texture and tone. Your skin will feel silky smooth, intensely hydrated, radiant and lightly perfumed, with a seductive fragrance.  Apply daily to desired areas, as an all over body moisturiser.
What we say: If you have extremely dry skin and are on a budget, this body butter is it. The combination of oils guarantees you stay moisturised all day. Skin feels smooth, however, the oils are a little tedious to wash off, to some it can feel like a thick layer of access oils, again I would recommend this to people that are prone to very dry skin. An added bonus is the aroma of the macadamia. – Matty

Lenthéric I Love Cocoa Butter Body Cream, R35.95

What they say: Moisturises skin for up to 48 hours. Vitamin E and glycerine enriched for added moisture and comfort. Combats dry, irritated skin, fast absorbing and intensely nourishing.

What we say: This body cream has a luscious peachy scent that lingers on the skin without being overpowering. I liked the rich texture, and the cream felt soothing when I applied it. The nourishing formula melted into my skin and kept it hydrated for hours. Feels soft and silky on my skin and it really keeps dryness away – I noticed a real improvement in my skin’s hydration. – Sam

Milk Solutions Grapefruit & Pomegranate Body Beautifying Cream, R192.52

What they say: A rich, penetrative moisturiser, to nourish the skin.

What we say: I tested the Grapefruit and Pomegranate Body Beautifying cream from Milk Solutions. This is my first time using the product and also the first time I’ve heard about this brand. I applied it every morning for 1 week and I was pleasantly surprised! The pomegranate smell is sweet and fruity and not too overpowering, this lingered on my skin up until lunchtime then I’d do a second application to last up until I leave the office for the day. The application is light and not too greasy and it absorbs in my skin quite quick, which is definitely one of the things I look for when buying a lotion.

As the colder mornings are approaching, my skin tends to get dry, and this lotion leaves my skin feeling softer and smoother. I would definitely recommend this lotion and would love the try the rest of the range. – Meryl

Johnson’s Vita-Rich Soothing Body Lotion with Rose Water, R44.95

What they say: Contains skin-loving rose water and shea butter. Infused with a refreshing fragrance. Its fast-absorbing formula actively hydrates and soothes the skin. For beautifully scented, healthy-looking skin that feels soft all day.

What we say: The first thing I noticed about this body lotion is the rose scent. It smells expensive (bonus!) and refreshing, and the scent lingered on my skin for hours after application. It absorbed fast, as promised, and didn’t feel heavy or oily on my skin. Having said that, it didn’t skimp on moisturising properties. My skin felt soft and silky when I applied it at night, and equally soft and silky when I woke up the next morning. By far one of the best budget body lotions I’ve used. – Anien
