What we say:
I’ve been using this product in shade “Pale Pink” and absolutely love the colour – it’s subtle without being boring and it adds a beautiful pop of summery pink to my complexion.

Though it can be used as either a blush or a lip colour, I’ve been sticking to this for my lips as I generally find that powder blusher works better for me. The colour is stunning and applies beautifully. I also find that it lasts quite a long time, but is not food-resistant like some other long-wearing lip products. I also like that it is almost scent-less – though I do like a fruity lip balm every now and then, I prefer that my colour lip products stay neutral.

My only real criticism of the product is that I wish it came with a mini lip brush for application. While my full size brush works perfectly, it’s not practical to carry in my handbag so I can seldom reapply during the day. Other than that, great product!

  1. This Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge is a 2-in-1 lip and cheek makeup product. Although it seems like the ideal makeup product to have and, not to mention, a total money saver, I found that this product was only effective as pot rouge for my cheeks. It gave my cheeks a beautiful natural pink blush. I found the product to be a bit thick and oily feeling though, which is not what you want for oily skin like mine. I prefer feathery light formulas. This pot rouge was slightly heavy for my liking.

When the pot rouge was applied to my lips, it looked very tacky and fake. I don’t know if it was because of my skin tone, or if it was the consistency of the actual product, but I removed it as soon as it was applied. It does, however, make a good lip tint when it is applied minimally and mixed with a clear lip gloss or lip balm.

I would recommend Bobbi Brown’s Pretty Powerful Pink pot rouge to youthful and playful girls, not only because it is a convenient 2-in-1 makeup product, or because of its funky packaging, but because of its feminine, stand-out pink colour.

  2. The concept of a pot rouge really sold me. This is a vintage concept which I loved, however mine felt sticky after a while and gave me a shine I didn’t like. I had bought two: the one that I liked for my lips was too deep for my cheeks and the one I liked for my cheeks was too nude for my lips. Also, in terms of colour, this product was not long lasting and seemed to disappear into my skin after a few hours leaving a shine on my cheeks.

  3. This was the first cream blush I have ever tried, I was really skeptical as I was so used to using a powder blush. This went on flawless, no streaks and really easy to blend with your fingers, and the finish is far more natural that the matte finish of a powder blush. It is a bit expensive, but worth it.

  4. I literally cannot go without my pot-rouge (in colour pale pink). It has become one of those products I always apply, even when in a rush, because it is super quick and easy! No brushes needed either.

It applies as a silicon/creamy texture which blends beautifully, especially on top of liquid foundation/ BB cream. It doesn’t work well on dry/ powdered skin because it needs the liquid base to blend seamlessly. The first time I used this I was worried the colour would be too overpowering but you just need a TINY amount on your fingers (I use my ring finger for application) and you end up with a healthy looking glow on your cheeks which lasts longer than any powder blush.

This shade is perfect for people with pale skin. I wouldn’t recommend it to those with breakouts on their cheeks, but for everyone else it is a winner product!

  5. Bobbi is a beauty queen with no doubt. The quality of her products definitely make it ok for me to spend that little bit extra because I know what I’m getting in return.
I love the versatility of this pot rouge. It goes on really smoothly on cheeks, making it easy to build up the colour to exactly what you want. It’s great on the lips after I slick on a light wash of lip balm just to prep the lips because mine are very dry. It’s soft and moisturising – love it!

  6. I love this pot rouge from Bobbi Brown. It’s a cream blush with makes it absorb better by my skin as I have really dry skin. It’s super pigmented and I just love how it looks.
