Chocolate BeautyEsse Cocoa Exfoliator, R179.95

Esse Cocoa Exfoliator is a delectable exfoliation experience for all skin types. It’s a locally-produced, natural scrub that contains polishing cocoa particles. After cleansing, apply to your face in circular motions for two minutes, paying particular attention to your T-zone and the corners of your nose – areas prone to blackheads. Rinse before moisturising.
Available online.

Long-wear Gel Eyeliner in Chocolate Shimmer Ink from Bobbi Brown, R280

This is a long-wear gel eyeliner in a deep brown shade with a hint of copper shimmer and just so happens to be made in Belgium. It’s a good old faithful in my make-up bag. The gel formula glides on smoothly with a brush and dries quickly so it doesn’t smudge after application. I use it just about every day.
Available at Edgars stores nationwide.

Chocomania from The Body Shop

Chocomania is pure indulgence. This decadent, chocolatey range includes gorgeous heart-shaped soaps, R35 each, Shower Cream, R75, Body Scrub, R125, Body Lotion, R99, Body Butter, R135 and Lip Butter, R55. Can’t make your pick? There’s a gift set that contains all of the above for R299.
Available at The Body Shop and selected Clicks stores nationwide.

Cacao Body Butter by Soaring Free Superfoods, R71.99

A delicious massage body butter. Think Nutella in the form of body paint. Besides cocoa butter, it also contains coconut oil that is anti pretty much everything – antimicrobial, antifungal, antibacterial and an antioxidant. But the best part is, it’s edible!
Available at Wellness Warehouse, Kloof Street and online.

Cupcake from Lush, R115

Cupcake is food for your face. It’s a fresh facemask containing Rhassoul mud from Morocco – good for a deep cleanse. It was invented with teenage skin in mind, but it works for oily and spotty skin in general. Besides cocoa butter and powder, it also contains fresh mint and spearmint and peppermint oils for that refreshing tingly feeling. It smells like choc-mint ice cream and looks like chocolate pudding. Mmmmmmm. Between cleansing and moisturising, smother some Cupcake over your face, around the eyes and mouth, leave for 10 minutes and rinse. It’s a pyjama party essential.
Available at Lush, V&A Waterfront.

i wish lush was more widely available in the country, there are so many things i want to try from them! i tried the chocomaina body wash, it had a lovely scent but it didn’t last very long. if i had layered the products and used the body butter as well, the scent may have lasted a bit longer. i would definitely re-buy it an other items in the range.

So interesting. I know that the tribes in the Amazon have used the cocoa bean for healing wounds so it makes sense that it could benefit the skin.

I was wary of trying out the Chocomania range because sweet smells tend to get too heavy for me, but I am in LOVE! The body butter is absolutely amazing for my super dry skin. Delicious too.

The title reminds me of my 2nd daughter who just happens to be darker in complexion compared to my other girls. She is “chocolate” and her sisters are “caramel”
