Celebrity chef Claire Allen launches Parlour – A playful new pop-up for brunch lovers 1

There are few things as indulgent as a beautifully curated Sunday brunch with bubbly. Cape Town-based brunch enthusiasts have the unique opportunity to experience Parlour, one of the most indulgent brunch events in the Mother City.

The latest creation by celebrity chef Claire Allen, Parlour is a three-month pop-up experience that reimagines the art of brunch at The Deli, Sea Point. Inspired by Claire’s time in London and Paris and her passion for bringing people together through great food, Parlour showcases her signature Croque Monsieur: rich, cheesy, indulgent, and perfected according to her own recipe. Gluten-free and pork-free options are available, with every variation delivering the same decadent, melt-in-your-mouth experience.

The pop-up launched in early December and is running on select Sundays until the end of March 2026. In partnership with Boschendal, guests enjoy a 90-minute seating which includes bottomless Cap Classique alongside a beautifully executed menu designed to spark conversation, laughter, and laid-back Sunday living, all set to the warm ambience of live music.

To start, guests are treated to a delicious mix of seasonal berries, and to end off the meal, you’ll be treated to Claire’s decadent chocolate éclairs.

Parlour is about having fun — it’s social, a little cheeky, a little indulgent, and made with love,” says Claire. “I wanted to create something that celebrates food, friendship, and the simple pleasure of sipping bubbly on a Sunday.”

Our editor was lucky enough to attend the pop-up:

“Sunday mornings at Parlour are such a treat! I think this is just the most brilliant concept, and The Deli is the perfect spot for it. The atmosphere is so festive yet laidback (just what you want for a Sunday morning), and the food is delectable.

I loved the simple ‘starter’ of fresh berries, and Claire’s Croque Monsieur is nothing short of spectacular. I don’t eat pork, so they left out the ham and gave me a fried egg on top instead. It was rich, filling and decadent. The portion size is huge! Go hungry, or take home your leftovers for later, as I did.

The chocolate éclairs served at the end of the meal are just perfect – not too big and not too sweet. And then there’s the Boschendal MCC. One of my favourite bubbly options, it is crisp and refreshing – perfect for summer. You can enjoy as many glasses as you want over the 90 minutes, so be sure to use a taxi service when going home.

A big thanks to Claire and her team for hosting us – it was marvellous.” Anien – Editor
