Keen to know what gifts our editor recommends? Here’s her take on some of the best buys for 2020.
Pepe Jeans Black Is Now For Her (R829.00) and Pepe Jeans Black Is Now For Him (R829.00)
The best his and hers fragrance duo, in my opinion! Not only is the packaging out-of-this-world stunning but both scents smell fantastic too. Black Is Now For Her is sensual and floral, comprising a cocktail (excuse the pun!) of datura flower, jasmine, amber, musk, sandalwood and caramel. For Him is bold and daring, with sophisticated notes of nutmeg, coffee, cedar, vanilla and hazelnut. Get yours at Foschini and Truworths stores or shop online here.
Cape Island Wild Coast Scented Candle (R320.00)
I am a major fan of Cape Island’s scented candles, and can highly recommend giving one a go if you’re not familiar with the brand. They are manufactured locally, housed in gorgeous packaging and leave a beautiful scent in the home. The newest addition to the Cape Island family is Wild Coast, a scent inspired by the untamed natural beauty of SA’s Wild Coast. Elegant iris captures enticing notes of black currant and wild jasmine is grounded with rich praline and patchouli. Shop online here.
Sorbet Tranquil Gift Set (R199.00)
I’ve tried both the Body Wash and the Hand and Nail Cream from Sorbet’s Tranquil range and loved them both. Now they’re available in a pretty gift set just in time for Christmas. I love the refreshing green tea scent, and found the body wash very gentle on my skin, while the hand cream was intensely nourishing without leaving an oily residue. Shop online here.
Yardley English Blazer Royal Gift Set EDP 100 ml, Deodorant 125 ml and Limited Edition Watch (R449.00)
English Blazer is a classic scent, and the Royal variant is a great option for those with a sophisticated taste. This gift set is such a steal, as you get your fragrance, deodorant as well as a watch, all for under R500. I would highly recommend snatching this bargain up while its still available as I can see this selling out fast.
NUXE Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Purpose Dry Oil Limited Edition (R520.00)
I’ve been using the NUXE Huile Prodigieuse oil for years, and can totally understand why it’s become such a classic and sought-after product. Apart from its hypnotising scent, the oil moisturises and nourishes skin and hair without making it feel greasy. I absolutely adore the limited edition summer packaging – it was designed by French art students, and is just too beautiful for words. Shop online here.
ghd flight® travel hair dryer gift set (R1650.00)
Have you ever left your hairdryer at home, thinking your hotel room’s one will suffice, only to be gravely disappointed? ghd’s travel hair dryer is the perfect solution – it’s small enough to pack into a suitcase or overnight bag, but doesn’t hold back on power. In fact, it has 70% of the power of the ghd air hair dryer, despite only weighing 50% of the weight. It comes in a lovely protective hard case so you don’t have to worry about damaging it when you travel. A total winner in my books! Shop online here.
Sorbet Nano Facial Steamer (R959.00)
This is my number one choice of product to add to your home care regime this festive season (or to spoil a loved one with, of course!). It emits a targeted column of steam, which dilates pores, allowing cleansers and cleansing tools to clear out dirt and impurities more thoroughly. Clever, right? Now it’s easier than ever to perform your own facial at home. Shop online here.
Sisley Eau du Soir Limited Edition 2020 (R 4450.00)
Have you ever smelled a Sisley fragrance? If not, do yourself a favour. This limited edition scent is top of my wish list. With notes of grapefruit, jasmine, rose, lily of the valley, musk and patchouli, it’s floral and fruity, and most importantly, memorable. It doesn’t hurt that the packaging is breath-takingly beautiful, too!
