Good day to you! Thanks so much for your enquiry.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but unfortunately there is no cleanser or face wash that is going to be able to cure dilated pores. Once pores have been ‘stretched’ and dilated, there is no way of ‘shrinking them’ without using really active products and even incorporating some facial treatments in your skincare program. It’s also very difficult for me to tell you exactly WHAT treatments to incorporate without being able to see exactly how severe the problem is.
There are some cleansers on the market that are mildly resurfacing and these will help to an extent, but won’t necessarily ‘cure the problem”. These include products like Neostrata’s Foaming Glycolic Wash, or Nimue’s Cleanser and Conditioner. So using a cleanser that will keep those dilated pores free of forming more blockages and also mildly resurfaces on an on-going basis will certainly help. I would also suggest an active product that will stimulate the skin’s dermal functions, such as a growth factor serum or moisturiser (serums are generally more active so if you are able to use one of these that would be great). Something like Skin Medica’s Recovery Complex or Lamelle’s Dermaheal Serum.
Then on an on-going basis, to prevent this situation from getting any worse, you MUST make sure you use a good broad spectrum SPF every single day. The more your skin is exposed to the sun while unprotected, the worse it will get.

I use a clay mask from Victorian Garden, works like a charm
very informative!!
I have heard that enlarged pores are caused by oiliness on the skin so I would advise to use foam or gel cleanser, alcohol based toner but like dr maureen said “It’s very difficult to tell you exactly WHAT treatments to incorporate without being able to see exactly how severe the problem is”. With my experience I used alcohol based toner, used granular exfoliator 3 times a week and used non creamy products on my skin and now it is better looking…..
Chemical peels should help for enlarged pores. They are strong enough and most probably will lead to visible results.
Ok, there goes my pores
Thankyou for the helpful info!
Ladies do yourself a favour and opt for going for a fruit acid peel. The Charlotte Rhys fruit acid peel is just absolutely amazing for soft and toned skin!!
After reading this article; I decided I’m going to start using Sunblock regularly!
If you’re looking for something that will help conceal them, maybe have a look into Benefit’s POREfessional. Youtube gurus rave about it!
Very interesting! I need a non-oily sun block to use on my face under my make up!
