The factory employs over 15 local seamstresses and artisans in Woodstock, some of whom have been with the company for over 20 years! Fair wages and decent working conditions are at the heart of their business, and it shows in the unrivalled craftsmanship of each and every item. From commissioning local artists for the print designs, to employing highly skilled local pattern-makers, cutters and seamstresses, Woodstock Laundry is committed to supporting local artisans.

“I’m going to be blunt – there really isn’t a lot of variety for those of us who love good quality sleepwear. I like my sleepwear to be soft and comfortable, to breathe, to wear and age well, and to be pretty. Unaffordable designer sleepwear is out of the question, and the cartoony, satiny or ‘overly-sexy’ mass-produced sleepwear at the local department store doesn’t do it for me either.
Woodstock Laundry is a game-changer. I only recently became familiar with the brand when I received a gorgeous pair of short pyjamas, and this is the first time all my sleepwear needs have been met. The fabric is ultra-soft cotton that feels lovely against my skin, the cut is comfortable, I can feel the quality of the material and the print is just gorgeous. I selected a black pair with leopards on it, but there is something for everyone – whether you’re into paisley, palm trees or flowers.
I love that the garments are made in Cape Town by local artisans as opposed to being mass produced and imported, and it’s great that they design for the whole family (the kids collection is adorable, by the way!). I know I’ll be living in mine during the summer months, and may very well invest in a second pair.”
