Sensai by Kanebo Fluid Finish Lasting Velvet

Sensai’s deeply moisturising foundation has a 55% water content. It sheathes the skin in a delicate veil of moisture to provide daylong hydration while imparting a silky, healthy-looking sheen to the surface.

What we say:
‘This is an amazing foundation! I would describe it as a medium coverage foundation with SPF15. The consistency is great, not too runny; it goes on smooth and feels like velvet, and it’s very easy to blend and apply. In fact it blends so well that I use my fingers and don’t have to bother with brushes, sponges etc. Sensai’s Fluid Finish Lasting Velvet is truly long lasting as it lasted me all day at work. The packaging is simple and practical – a sturdy glass bottle with a pump and a black top. What impressed me most was the smell, it is divine never before have I smelled such a stunning scent from a foundation. I will definitely buy this product again!’

  1. I am desperately looking for a foundation and I think I might just go and try this out. It sounds like an amazing product!!! Thank you for all your reviews :)

  2. I somehow remember paying around R600 for this foundation but I might be wrong! I loved this foundation and only recently changed to a MAC foundation as i remembered it being a lot more expensive. I must say I have not found such a nice foundation again in all my searches! I have very very white skin and Kanebo’s range matched my skin tone flawlessly. I find a lot of other foundations make me look very yellow. I think I need to go back on this product as I have not found a better one.

  3. I have used this foundation when it was still just Kanebo and can say without a doubt there is no better, the skin feels like satin and looks like delicate porcelain it goes on smoothly and stays on all day. You are not aware of the base at all not like some that sticks like paste or powder. It is a bit expensive but worth the investment. you use very little as it goes a long way.

  4. A really great product. Just a pity it is so expensive but definitely worth saving up for. Leaves a perfect finish and lasts really long. Doesnt not react even with sensitive skin.

  5. Kanebo, Shiseido and Shu Eumura you will never go wrong! Its close to perfection if not perfect, thats Japanese culture.

  6. It is by far my most favourite foundation. I have been using it for about a 2 month now. It gives my skin a natural dewy finish with a perfect coverage. It also looks amazing in photos! A bit pricey, but worth every cent!

  7. Kanebo has always been the brand which has stood the test of time with its high end Japenese science in addition to the worlds most rarest commodity, Silk. Not just any silk for that matter, it has to be Koshimaru silk. This winning skincare formula has been extended to their make-up line and this velvety foundation is definately a winner in my eyes. It feels like silk when you apply it to your skin. It adds a touch of hydration without being oily so it is perfect for combination skin. I use the colour Amber Beige which is perfect for wheatish Indian skin which tends to have yellow undertones. Beautiful product which is quite heavily pigmented which means that every precious drop goes a long way. It has not caused any breakouts so far so this foundation is a keeper!
