  1. I was extremely excited to try this product after seeing so many amazing reviews. And I must say I’m impressed!
It does a good job at taking off makeup, but cleaning my face… well Meh!
my face is left feeling slightly sticky and then I have to wash it off with my normal cleanser. but I will definitely use it for removing makeup.

  2. The best thing about this product, is that it saves me time and saves my cleanser. Before washing my face in the evening, it easily removes my makeup, and therefore I use/waste much less of my costly cleanser. I feel it gives my cleanser the opportunity to thoroughly cleanse my skin and work its magic, rather than first having to wade through the makeup etc before being able to do its job. I was surprised at how refreshed and soft my skin feels after using it, and even though my skin (and eyes specifically) are very sensitive, this product has not irritated my skin or my eyes whatsoever. Many other makeup removing products dry out my skin and/or eye area…this certainly does not! My hubby is lazy when it comes to washing his face in the evenings, but I have convinced him to use this in the evenings to “remove the day”, and even he says he feels refreshed after using it. Will definitely continue to repurchase!

  3. I have hears so many great reviews on this products before it reached our shelves in SA so I had high hopes for it. Especially since it was so often compared to the Bioderma cleansing water. I have to say that for the price of it, you cannot really expect much but I was disappointed because it worked like a normal makeup remover and did nothing else for my skin. I doubt I would be repurchasing. I would rather save the money towards a Bioderma cleansing water!

  4. This product is quick becoming a cult favorite and I can understand why. It removes any make with ease even waterproof mascara! They say it cleanses your face as well but being big on cleansing my face thoroughly I have to say that I still use my normal cleanser after this. But overall a great product!

  5. Those of us beauty addicts will understand the excitement when this launched in SA as beauty bloggers were comparing it to the cult Bioderma Micellar Water. This definitely lives up to the standards of its Bioderma counterpart however is a fraction of the price.

This works very effectively in removing eye make up as well as foundation before I go in with a cleanser (I am a big fan of double cleansing). I cannot comment on how effectively it removes waterproof mascara as I’m not a fan of that formula.

I also love using this on a long haul flight to cleanse my skin on the plane, it’s a great alternative to face wipes, which I always feel don’t get all the dirt off.

Really happy we have a more cost effective alternative to Bioderma, well done Garnier!

  6. Looking for an alternative product to remove make up?
You definitely will not go wrong with Garnier Micellar cleaning water. Looking at the baby pink and clear bottle, you might underestimate this product as an effective make-up remover (as I did). I was pleasantly surprise after my first application.
It bonded instantaneously to foundation, (I use double wear) eye shadow and even waterproof mascara thus saving a lot of time and energy and cotton wool pads too.
Unlike majority of the makeup removers that leave your skin dry and even red, the Micellar water hydrated as well as removed my makeup in one easy step. This product is also economically suitable for all as I got mine from Click at R79.99.
Give it try you got nothing to lose.

  7. I love this product!
Beauty bloggers have raved about this for months and it is finally in SA! I got it as soon as it was available and have used it everyday since! There is no real smell which is great because it is so gentle on the skin. My first impression was that it was so water like that I did not think it would work. But I was blown away! It removes make up so well and leaves skin feeling smooth and refreshed. It did not dry out my skin which was a fear because I already have dry skin! I use it in the mornings sometimes to clean away oil and dirt before I start the day, a clean start to apply make up.
The packaging is really pretty and it is great value for money. Says you get about 200 uses for R80 which is incredible.
I definitely recommend this to anyone. I truly is a great product!

  8. Like the name suggests Garnier’s new micellar cleansing water is designed to cleanse your face with a few swipes leaving fresh, soft and hydrated skin. Garnier’s micellar cleansing water is available in two variants- sensitive and oily-combination and at a huge 400ml this cleansing water is guaranteed for 200 uses! My research revealed that micellar water is made up of micelles, which are tiny oil molecules suspended in soft water whose purpose is to attract oil and dirt, cleansing your face. Micellar water has been around for a while and was mainly used by the French due to the harshness of their water.

I enjoy this product and am currently using the pink bottle (sensitive). While I do not suffer from sensitive skin, right now it is slightly dehydrated from winter and I feel that the green bottle (oily) would only exacerbate my problem. I use the micellar water as part of my double cleanse in the evening and alone in the morning to remove night time serums and treatments. I find it so refreshing and definitely delivers on its promises. For the sake of saving on cotton pads I use it after I have washed my face and even though I wash my face pretty well there is always traces of grime / makeup left behind. I’m looking forward to using this product in summer and plan on storing it in fridge for those horrible, humid Durban days.

Pros: effective one step cleansing process, skin feels soft and hydrated, hypoallergenic, price (R79.95 for 400ml).

Cons: the amount of cotton pads you will go through! Has a tough time removing certain waterproof mascara.

    Definite two thumbs up!

  9. So exactly what is a micellar water? It basically is tiny, round molecules in water that latches themselves onto dirt and remove them like a magnet so to speak. It looks on the outside like it has a soapy consistency, yet it feels nothing like soap on my skin.
Since using this product I have noticed that I use more cotton rounds to remove my makeup at night, which isn’t a bad thing necessarily. It just shows me how much dirt this product actually removes compared to other makeup remover I have used before.
It feels noting like any makeup remover I have ever used before. It feels like water, but it has a huge cleansing kick.
I love it and will definitely repurchase this product again.
