  1. I was lucky enough to attend 2 trial sessions with the Inglot ladies – the first was at their counter in the Edgars Store in Canal Walk and the second at their stand alone store in Canal Walk.

My first session was with Robyn where I was introduced to the Inglot HD Perfect Coverup Foundation. While I do know of Inlgot I have never actually used any of the their make-up products and was very excited to finally try them out and I was not disappointed. Robyn talked me through the entire HD product range with particular focus on the foundation. I have several foundations at home because I have never found one that actually does what it says and I have a combination skin which tends to get oil/shiny halfway through the day and I sometimes randomly break out in spots.

I was a bit wary as Robyn talked me through Inglot’s HD Perfect Coverup Foundation’s selling points but I must confess I have found my new favourite foundation. With 2 pumps from the bottle, I have complete long lasting coverage. My skin looks smooth and blemish free. I have had zero breakouts and I don’t have to worry about a super oily face halfway through the day! I purchased the pressed powder to go with my foundation and it gives such a flawless, natural finish to my look and if I want to freshen up my foundation, I use the powder. One of the things I love about the foundation is that it doesn’t feel heavy on my skin and I don’t feel like my pores are being clogged up with makeup. It’s easy to apply and actually LASTS!

My second visit to the Inglot team was at their stand alone store, where I was treated to a contouring lesson with Janine, who was lovely. In one easy session she taught me how to hide my “problem” areas with the magic of contouring and introduced me to a new lip colour I am now the proud owner of. I always thought contouring was complicated and would take forever to do but Janine talked me through what areas I need to hilight and how. I left the store feeling fabulous and sporting higher cheek bones and a thinner looking nose :)

I had very informative sessions and it was a great way to really get to know the brand and it’s product. All the ladies i met at the store and in Edgars were so friendly and patient with all my questions.

I am now an Inglot convert and will be back for more make-up goodies!

  2. This is honestly the best foundation I have used. The colour matches my darkerin tone without being generic. It is easy applicable and lasts throughout the day. It does not let me down. The foundation isthe perfect cover up without being too obvious. My skin glows and it remains moisturised.

  3. I was lucky enough to be chosen as part of the Trial Team for this product. I have a very fair complexion so was interested to see how they would match my skin tone. I also have an oily T-panel. My over all impression after using this product is that it is a keeper. I have often looked at the “art shop” that is an Inglot store, stand-alone or inside an Edgars store, and the lay-out is so enticing! The girls at Inglot Canal Walk were very friendly and I spent a most enjoyable hour “learning to contour my face”. The whole experience was very relaxing. Kelli was able to find a match for my complexion and explained each step very clearly. The texture of Inglot HD Perfect Coverup Foundation is light and smooth. Although it covers imperfections and keeps the “oil” at bay, it is light-weight and I did not feel as if I was wearing foundation. It lasts all day and stays looking fresh (granted I do use a primer prior to application). I love the pump action packaging – no fighting with a tube! Plus, there is no wastage and you can use every drop, and see how much you have left too. The foundation goes on smoothly and is easy to blend. The price at R395 is competitive and as a whole, what is promised is delivered – and that is what counts.

  4. I have never owned any Inglot products before and was very excited to try new products and get the chance to be taught all about contouring by a make-up artist.

I went to the Canal Walk stand-alone store for my contouring lesson, which I would highly recommend. I have never really done contouring and have always thought that firstly that it would be too tricky to try. Secondly, I wasn’t really sure what the point was. The lesson was incredibly informative and done in such a way that I feel I could re-create the look myself, which is an absolute must when it comes to make-up lessons. The make-up artist I was with was incredibly professional, patient and answered all my questions along the way. As far as contouring goes, I’m not convinced that it’s worth the extra effort of introducing it into my daily routine, but I will definitely give it a try on the next special occasion.

Before I get to the HD product line, let me just fill you in on how the rest of their make-up works. Basically, instead of buying a palette of colours (eye shadow, lip-gloss etc.) and only ever using your favourite colour, at Inglot you are able to build your own palette. You can even choose to have two eye shadows, one lip-gloss and one concealer- you are completely in control of your palette!

Okay, back to the product. The new HD foundation that Inglot has just launched has a number of benefits; it is suitable for all skin types, is oil free and creates a flawless finish you can build depending on the coverage you want. Two of my favourite features of the product are the texture (super smooth, easy to apply and blends beautifully) and the pump action of the bottle pumps from the bottom (it’s tricky to describe, but basically you will never be left with that little bit of product you can’t get to in the bottom of the bottle). I found that the foundation lasted all day (note I was also wearing their make-up base). Two things which weren’t great for me personally was that it doesn’t contain any SPF. The reason for this is to allow photographers etc., to use it and it won’t affect their photos but for me, I like to keep my routine as simple as possible and I like knowing that my foundation has some SPF in it. The second thing I was slightly disappointed by was the range of colours of foundation. I found the range somewhat limited, which meant that I wasn’t able to find the perfect match for my skin tone.

All in all, I loved trying the new HD foundation, and even more than that, I learned so much from my make-up lesson. I would definitely recommend you pop into an Inglot stand-alone store or one of their stands in Edgars to have a chat with one of their friendly make-up artists.

  5. For me, a good foundation provides good luminous coverage, refines pores, lasts/doesn’t need re-touching the whole day, has a very light texture and must give a healthy glow finish to my skin. Now, Inglot HD Perfect Coverup Foundation ticks all these boxes for me, except for the glowing skin finish. Like most foundations, Inglot HD Foundation has a matte finish but I use the HD Illuminizing Loose Powder to give my skin that healthy glow I love.

I remember my 1st time wearing this foundation; the moment I was done with my make-up, I went like “I feel like I should be in front of a camera or be on TV or something”. I felt like the world needed to see my face. I don’t get enough compliments when wearing this foundation. Everyone has been asking what I use on my face and where they can get it. This product could have been called Camera-Ready or Infinite HD cover in my opinion. My face is camera-ready everyday, all day…LOL.

I have been wearing this foundation for just over a week and my skin hasn’t changed at all. I haven’t experienced any breakouts or any type of skin irritation. I generally don’t have any skin problems and I am so glad that this product hasn’t created any skin problems for me.

Inglot HD Coverup Foundation is wearable everyday, has a light pleasant smell, a very light texture, perfectly covers imperfections for a camera-ready finish, is competitively priced at only R395.00, comes in 8 amazing shades (you can be sure to find your perfect match), and is not messy at all due to the pump action. The pump action also allows you to use every last drop of the foundation. The fact that this foundation is available at Inglot and Edgars stores across the country, along with the rest of the HD range, makes it so easy to find.

The HD Sculpting Powder (which I use for contouring) and HD Illuminizing Loose Powder are my most favourite from the Inglot HD range by far… Thanks to the ladies at the Inglot store in Canal Walk (they taught me how to use these products really well).

If you are ever unsure about any Inglot product, you can visit an Inglot store for a tutorial. They offer complimentary tutorials to their customers. Emphasis: This service is FREE! They teach their customers how to use their products properly for FREE!. They have the most amazing, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff. I am beyond impressed with the ladies at Inglot store in Canal Walk. I am beyond impressed with Ingot in general. I think Inglot might be my new favourite cosmetic brand.

  6. I was very delighted to be selected for the review of this product as I’ve almost always had issues with either colour or sensitivity when it comes to foundation products. The actual demonstration at the make-up counter was long yet informative. I loved the contouring lessons, which is great information for future use. The texture of the foundation is light with an evident moisturising feel. The pump action packaging is great in that it makes application controlled and measurable. I experienced that I needed three pumped applications for full coverage, which I hardly do as I prefer my applications light. Albeit using one application I enjoyed sufficient coverage for a light yet glowing look, which I expect from my foundation.

I have very sensitive skin, so my major point is that it did not give me any breakouts. The foundation has a neutral smell, which is not offensive or overbearing in any way. I do feel though that for my combination skin type, applying the primer prior to the make-up gives it an oilier feel, which is a definite negative for me.
The service that I received at the store was very professional, relaxing and comfortable, but it was mostly informative around valuable lessons in contouring. I have never fostered an interest in Inglot and its brand but the sales consultant did such a great job in informing me about the brand and its origin that I might be converted. The product and brand suits my skin type and the colour matches perfectly. For the price, it is a major competitor in its field.

One additional plus point that I need to add is that the HD foundation gives a more natural glow than a cakey effect, which is such a big deciding factor for me when purchasing my foundation. I don’t often switch brands but in this instance it would be advantageous for me to only do so. It is a great product. I love that the stand alone store contributes to a more personal and intimate feel as opposed to a counter in another store.

  7. This product claims to provide long-lasting coverage and conceals discoloration. It promises to adjust to each skin tone preventing excess shine. It lives up to its promise and so much more. It works with a pump action for easy application and left my skin with flawless, dewy finish. I quite liked the dewiness, which was a new texture and feel for me. Along with the foundation, I received a contouring lesson at the Inglot stand-alone store. I am a contour newbie so I thoroughly enjoyed the lesson and how to make the most of your foundation. A big thumbs up to Inglot!

  8. I have seen some Inglot products at Edgars stores but I’d never used an Inglot foundation before this one. Before trying this one, I was a bit skeptical about whether it would suit my skin tone and type. I picked up my foundation in colour 78 (which I’ve discovered is the prefect shade for me) from the stand alone Inglot store at Canal Walk earlier this month. I received great service. The make-up artists were also friendly and warm. The artist whom I engaged with the most gave me a contouring lesson was very informative and engaging, and let me know about the products and store promotions. I am definitely going back!

Before even trying the foundation, I was impressed by the packaging. The hard plastic is very reassuring that should I drop my foundation, I will have nothing to worry about. The plastic packaging is also great because the foundation is quite light and easy to carry around. My skin type is combination and it also has some discolouration, so my T zone is usually oily and other parts of my face get quite dry and patchy, especially during winter. After applying the foundation I found that it is quite matte. This was fantastic for my T-zone especially! I ensured that I used toner and moisturizer before applying the foundation, as well as the Inglot under make-up base, which gave a flawless finish, as the foundation had a good base.

The foundation is smooth, it gives good coverage (I’d say medium to full coverage) and really evened out my skin, which is priority in foundations for me. The shade was perfect even though when I first looked at it I was doubtful. Funny thing is that it also looked good on both my mother and sister too, and we’re all different shades of brown. This was just amazing, but I may need to hide my make-up bag when I visit them because it looked really good! I realized that even if I use very little of the foundation I can notice a big difference with one pump of the product. It seems quite different to the other liquid foundations I’ve tried; its consistency was rather surprisingly thick, so it dries quite quickly and you’ve got to apply it very fast.

I’d say that this foundation is definitely perfect if you’re looking for a matte effect, however, if your skin is very dry then this foundation may not be the one you want to use, as the mattyifying effect may lead to dryness. The foundation lasted long and I loved that it did not change in shade. In the past, I have found that some foundations which I have used would change shades over the period of a day and get darker as time went on, but that was not the case with the HD foundation. It’s staying power is amazing and it looks as good at the end of the day as it did in the morning.

I love the fact that it has a pump applicator! The pump releases just enough product, and it pumps out small amounts so you don’t waste the product. I usually prefer to use my hands to apply my foundation then a good kabuki brush to blend it. The foundation did not have any strong scent at all, it smells quite clean if that makes sense. At R395, this foundation definitely delivers value for money so it’s a very good price point for 35ml of product.

  9. I am that girl who gets excited when she sees a pump on a foundation bottle. My excitement is also parallel to my anticipation to be disappointment in obtaining a shade for my deep skin tone. I must say that Inglot impressed me by having a shade available. The finish of the foundation is a lot more dewy than I anticipated, but I am happy with the coverage and undertone.

  10. I love this product. I used it once and it conceals all my marks on my face. In addition, it looked fresh throughout the entire day.
