Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick

Rimmel’s Lasting Finish Lipstick promises up to eight hours of wear and, thanks to colour-boosting pigments, a pout that always looks as though your lipstick’s just been freshly applied.

What we say:
‘According to the girls at review website Makeupalley, this lippie scores a fabulous four outta five. (Personally, I don’t buy anything unless it gets a four or more from the girls at MUA…) They reckon it doesn’t last as long as 8 hours, but certainly sticks around longer than ye regular ole’ lipstick. Also, as with most long-wearing formulas, they say it can dry your lips out with extended use. To prevent this, apply it after a slick of lip balm, but just bear in mind that this will decrease your wear time.’

  1. There are no words to express how much I love this lipstick. I have the 120 Cutting Edge colour, which is a dark purple. It looks very vivid against my dark brown skin. Just one coat gives a solid colour. Add a couple more coats, and the lipstick will stay on for HOURS!
This is definitely one of the best purchases I’ve ever made.

  2. This is one of my favourite lipsticks recently. I have Pink Corset, a beautiful blue-toned baby pink. It looks gorgeous with a natural makeup look and I find myself reaching for it on a weekly basis during summer. It has a creme finish and the colour literally lasts for 6-8 hours on me, and that never happens with lipsticks. By 6-8 hours, it’s obviously not the same amount of lipstick left as when you applied it earlier, but it does leave enough lipstick to give your lips a different tint. I was quite impressed to see that a shade lighter than my lips actually managed to tint my lips. Really impressive! I love these and apply some Labello to prevent dryness.

  3. I have a dark berry colour that I love for a more “vampy” look, as is the trends theses days. I love the sleek tube, and design. It is easy to hold and doesn’t feel chunky. I love the actual lipstick, it applies smoothly and gives off good colour pay-off after one swipe and can be built up for a more intense look. I like that it is not super shiny but not so matte that it dries my lips and it feels comfortable to wear. It doesn’t last forever, but it’s around after that cup of coffee and biscuit. I definitely want to get more colours to play around with. My only issue was that when taking the label off the tube, it got very sticky and messy which was a pain to clean off.

  4. I have never been much of a red lipstick fan, but the shade “Alarm” from this range has converted me. “Alarm” is not a true red but it is certainly the most wearable shade of red for most skin tones. The packaging is sleek, glossy and very lightweight. The lipstick itself is very pigmented and smells divine. The lipstick is very creamy and applies like a dream and dries to a velvet finish. Even though the formulation is very creamy, the colour does not bleed and feels great on the lips. I did not find it to be long lasting and it did transfer a lot so it definitely would need to be re-applied during the day. Despite failing on the “lasting finish” promise and the easy transfer of colour, I would absolutely recommend this range purely because the formulation is excellent and so comfortable to wear. Bonus: The colour makes your teeth appear whiter.

  5. Wow, what a flattering nude pink. It is in a black classy looking tube that closes tight and won’t open in your handbag. It has a satiny creamy texture that dries to a matte but comfortable finish and it is reasonably lasting and will wear for 3 to 4 hours. When wearing off, it leaves a sheer stain on your lips.
I don’t usually wear nudes as I always fear looking washed out but this nude pink makes my brown skin look softer and feminine. I never actually realised how wearing a nude lipstick makes your eyes and skin really become your central features and how flawless skin is a must. Thank goodness that my favourite flaw hiding foundation is also made by Rimmel.

  6. sure they dont last 8 hours and i feel bit drying on my lips and it sort of hardens as you use along. value for money but nothing great and moisturing.

  7. I am known for always wearing lipstick. If I didn’t wear any other cosmetic, it would be lipstick. On that note, I am always on the look out for a moisture-rich inexpensive lipstick with a wide variety of colors. I was a Revlon addict, then a Loreal addict. Now, I am a Rimmel addict. I discovered Rimmel. Revlon and Loreal were waaaay to expensive. Have been a loyal follower since

  8. I like Rimmel Products, the lipstick is great but it makes my lips very dry, so i have to use a lip balm before applying this lipstick.

  9. Ok, they say it lasts for eight hours (bull dangles) 3-4 at the most not so keen on this product would rather pay a little bit more and get value for my money.
