Revlon PhotoReady Colour Correcting Primer

This is a lightweight primer that smoothes skin while evening out skin tone with colour correcting pigments that neutralise redness and uneven colour. Oil-free and paraben-free, this primer is suitable for sensitive skins too.

What we say:
In a market flooded with colour correcting make-up products, Revlon has recently launched a new line of products to join the ranks. Meet PhotoReady Colour Correcting Primer, a product that claims to smooth the skin and even out skin tone.

One of the first things I noticed about the primer was its colour – pink. According to colour theory, green or yellow cancel out redness as they are opposite shades on the colour wheel. With this in mind, I was somewhat sceptical as to whether or not the primer would live up to its promises. After applying the primer, my skin felt smooth and without any trace of oiliness, as is the case with silicone-based primers. The primer filled in any visible fine lines and pores and as a result I used less foundation than I usually would (bonus!).

I found that rather than neutralising redness, the pink undertone of the primer made my redness stand out a bit more. I would highly recommend this primer for someone with an even skin tone, however if you are in the market for a primer that will mask redness then a primer with a green tone would be more beneficial.

  1. I have to get this primer! A sales lady also suggested that I start using a primer before applying my foundation.
She tested this one out on me and I must say I was really impressed. I always loved Revlon cosmetics but the photo range is quiet something.

  2. I never used a primer until a sales lady suggested it! It works for me and I love how my skin looks after. I have never used foundation until this year, and the combination works just perfectly for me! :)

  3. I found this primer left a matte finish I didn’t like. It looked like my skin was dries out. I didn’t like the finished look. It felt silky smooth though.

  4. Too heavy and doesn’t cover well. And with the Winter dryness, the oil absorbing effect is too much.

  5. I absolutely love Revlon Photoready foundation so I’m definitely going to get this primer next week!!

  6. Recently wondered why my sister-in-law had such perfect foundation and was applied perfectly. She had no oilness and somehow her skin looked more youthful. That when I spyed it on her dressing table Revlon photoready Premer. Now I know her secret.

  7. I am still looking for a yellow primer, anyone know of any. I wouldnt like to use pink for my skin tone, i think it may wash me out.

  8. I really need to start using primer but this sound like the right one for me as I have redness.
