When I first saw the advertising campaigns for this fragrance, I didn’t expect to like it. In general I like floral and fresh scents, and I avoid anything overly sweet or spicy. The name “Candy” insinuates something sickly sweet (my thoughts immediately go to candy floss) which doesn’t usually appeal to me, but despite my reservations I decided to give it a try.Â
I am happy to say that I was completely wrong about this fragrance. Is it sweet? Yes. But not the kind of sweet I expected. It is feminine and flirty with definite hints of caramel, but these are beautifully balanced out by soft musks and vanilla. Furthermore, the bottle is absolutely stunning. I love the bright pink and gold colouring and I can’t get enough of this eye-catching dome on my dressing table. I wouldn’t say the scent is my usual everyday scent, but it’s perfect for a night on the town or dinner with the girls. This fragrance has taught me not to judge a scent by it’s name or ad campaign!

This scent is so yum, if you like sweet scents, hence the name candy, this is for you. It is truly breathtaking and smells wounderful.

I went to test the perfume at Edgars and loved the sweet smell and the shape of the bottle. It is not too strong and goes perfectly with what I like to wear, besides, Prada is also one of my favourite brands.

To be honest, I was really hesitant in going to the mall to try this particular fragrance as I am not one for sweet fragrances. I was impressed with the sophisticated powdery mid-notes, which is a fabulous cocktail of musk, combined with the ever popular sensual base note, vanilla. I also enjoy the Prada Candy L’Eau fragrance, which is a playful and seductive perfume, with notes of citrus and flowers. Its opening sparkles with fresh Italian citruses, followed by the floral heart of sweet pea. I am loving the Prada CandyEau de Parfum Rollerball, what a super awesome gift!

Yes the smell is very very very sweet… duh its called Candy! I am more of a fresh fragrance girl but I wear this fragrance when I want to feel more girly and for evening outings.

I find the scent a little too sweet, but I suppose that is why it’s called Candy then isn’t it? Not my favourite scent but it’s definitely worth trying to see if it’s your kind of scent.
