Essie Winter 2011 Nail Colour Collection

Essie Weingarten, the company’s founder, says she was inspired by the ‘dark side’ of the season. ‘The feeling on the runways was one of knowing grace and self-assured cool – today’s woman follows her own path. Her wardrobe matches her provocative style: strident, striking and oh, so fabulous!’

    Application and Formula:
It is a gorgeous peachy neutral shade even though Essie describes Mamba as a “shimmering café au lait”. Generally you will need 2 coats in order for it to look opaque but I personally prefer 3 coats. Considering that it is a light colour, it is quite impressive the coverage you get with two coats. It is important to mention that this nail polish is a creamy consistency and has no shine to it. You need a glossy top coat in order to get a good shine.

    Wearability:
As most Essie nail polish, Mamba can last for about a week or until you decide to change the colour. Since this is a sort of nude nail polish, when it does chip, it is not that noticeable.

    Verdict:
If you are looking for a shade to use just so you have nail polish on your nails and not have anything too bold, then this is a colour worth considering. What I love about this colour is that it is ideal for the office/campus as well as for any season. It really is a sophisticated colour.

If you would like to purchase this, then pop into your nearest Dischem/Clicks store. Prices vary from R115 – R125 depending on where you buy it.

I had my nails done at a nail bar with the Essie brand and two days later the nail polish started peeling off. Essie used to be such a great and trusting product but something has changed. I have used the brand for years but the product no longer lasts on the nails. #disappointed

I love the colour range, but this product does not last that long on the nails, by day 3 or 4, it starts chipping away!

I love this brand of nail polish. The names of each colour are either cute or really awesome. The nail polish itself is amazing, and the bottle is a nice size for the price. These are lovely colours to add some warmth for the cooler days.

I adore Essie nail polish, unfortunately it is not that affordable, especially since we have the sinful and essence… The colour ranges are amazing, and I love that they have so many colours, that are so similiar, but not the same. I love their twill collection!

Absolutely cannot go wrong with Essie. Amazing selection of colours and the quality has never disappointed.

Never tried Essie before, but I hate it when my nail polish chips or makes bubbles. Let’s hope this one doesn’t! It looks good from what other reviewers have said. Perhaps I’ll give it a shot!
