We recently attended the media launch of Acqua Di Parma Luce Di Rosa Eau de Parfum. This dynamic rose-infused fragrance forms part of the Signatures of the Sun collection (an exquisite collection of fragrances that capture the essence of Italian elegance and sophistication).
But much to our surprise, this is not your usual rose fragrance. This multifaceted scent plays with the dynamic nature of the rose to bring light to a facet you probably haven’t encountered before.
The fragrance opens with a refreshing citrus blend of bergamot and mandarin – how Italian! This luminous start is heightened by the spicy nuances of fresh black pepper and pink pepper CO2 extract, alongside the subtle accents of cardamom, setting the stage for a sensory olfactory journey.
At its heart, Luce di Rosa flourishes with the noble rose from Bulgaria, the centrepiece of this olfactive masterpiece. Renowned for its intense freshness, this beautiful rose is complemented by geranium, creating a core that is not only floral but also rich.
In the base, Luce di Rosa settles into a deep, grounding essence of vetiver, guaiac wood, and cedarwood, all enveloped by the soft, sensual embrace of musk nuances, crafting a finale that unveils and reflects ever-different sensations over time.
The Bulgarian rose is distilled from flowers harvested in the Kazanlak region of Bulgaria through a steam-water process, capturing the essence of the rose at its most vibrant. This is evident in the essence’s floral, spicy, and honeyed notes, making it a coveted ingredient in perfumery.
