Question: Question from khumalo

I have a sunscreen that I bought in 2009 and I can't see an expiry date. Do sunscreens expire?

Answer

Sunscreens certainly do expire, however, to tell you whether or not yours has yet expired is very difficult. Different product houses make use of different preservatives in their products and therefore some are able to last much longer than others. I would however guess that after 4 years, there is not much chance that your product will still be effective (especially if it has been opened 4 years ago).
