“Because our festive season runs through summer, the festive beauty trends you see in SA are far different to the beauty trends we see internationally. I love spending the festive season by the beach, and this means that my festive beauty regime is heavily focused on sun protection, hydration and protection.

I was thrilled to put the carefully curated items in the Clicks Festive Beauty Box to the test, as it’s not only given me some insight on how to adjust my regime for the upcoming season, but it’s also introduced me to some new products I haven’t tried before. The Body Shop Satsuma Body Butter
Anyone who knows me, knows that I have a deep love for everything produced by The Body Shop, and their body butters are a staple in my bathroom cupboard. This fresh, citrusy variant is perfect for warmer weather and I love that it offers an intense moisture boost as my skin tends to get dry when I spend time outdoors.

Hada Labo Tokyo Sun Face Cream SPF 50
Sunscreen is my number one summer beauty product, and I absolutely love this formula! Hada Labo Tokyo is known for their ultra-hydrating moisturisers and this SPF incorporates their patented ingredient, Super Hyaluronic Acid, for a formula that offers effective hydration while protecting from UV rays. It melts into the skin, doesn’t leave a white cast and feels invisible – no oily or sticky residue in sight.

Playgirl Bliss Body Wash
I prefer shower gels over cakes of soap, especially in summer, and this formula surprised me. It has a gorgeous floral fragrance that’s invigorating yet refreshing, and it works up a lovely lather that doesn’t dry out my skin. I always associate Playgirl with fragrance and makeup, so it was lovely to try something new – it’s a winner!

Yardley Gorgeous In Love Eau de Parfum
Warm, sensual and inviting, this feminine fragrance is the perfect scent for family get togethers, a festive date or a night out. I love the combination of fruity, floral and musky notes and because it’s an eau de parfum, it lasts on the skin.

Oh So Heavenly Moonlight Dreams Perfume Mist
This is the perfect product to keep in your gym bag or beach bag for an instant refresh when you’re out and about. It has beautiful feminine top notes of jasmine, a heart of soft cashmere and base notes of sweet amber. It’s the perfect summer pick-me-up!

John Frieda Frizz Ease Miraculous Recovery Leave-In Conditioner
With the onset of summer (and increased humidity) often comes the onset of frizz… This leave-in spray is the answer to dry, damaged and frizzy hair. It contains nourishing argan, coconut and moringa oils to help detangle hair, repair dryness and minimize frizz.

NIVEA Clear Up Deep Pore Cleanser
During summer, our skin produces more oil, which increases our risk of breaking out. To avoid blemishes and blackheads, it’s important to use a cleanser like this one which contains spot-busting salicylic acid, hyaluronic acid (for moisture) and 99% pure sea salt, which lessens spot-causing bacteria. This clever cleanser also help rebalance the skin and manage oil production for a clear, shine-free complexion.

NIVEA Perfect & Radiant Luminous 630 Anti Dark Marks Anti-Age & Spot Serum
I love that this serum targets both ageing and uneven skin tone simultaneously. Designed to reduce the appearance of dark marks, it also contains a collagen booster which stimulates the skin to produce its own collagen, restoring volume and filling lines. It has a lovely texture and is an effective option for ageing skins with uneven skin tone.

NIVEA Expert Lift Cellular 3-Zone Lifting Serum
This anti-ageing serum contains bakuchiol, the plant-based alternative to retinol that everyone is talking about. It targets the face, neck and décolleté to visibly lift, reduce the depth of lines, tighten and firm skin. It has a lovely lightweight formula that melts into skin effortlessly, leaving it looking smoother, more defined and more elastic.  

Oh So Heavenly 5 Days of Superfood Face Care Daily Face Mask Glow Kit
I simply adore this– a kit containing five face masks, one for each day of the week. I love that the back of the box gives guidance as to which mask to use on which day and why, so that you can reap the full benefits of the various ingredients. This is a great kit for when you have a few days leading up to a big event and I highly recommend it as a stocking filler this festive season.

A dry or irritable scalp is very common, especially as we head into summer and spend more time in the sun.
