NeoStrata’s new Vitamin C serum has landed just in time for summer and it’s one of the skincare launches we’re most excited about. If you’re prone to pigmentation, you’ll know that summer poses unique challenges. Spending more time outdoors means your chances of developing (or increasing) hyperpigmentation are much higher, and it’s not unusual for some of us to get to the end of summer with a few new sun spots.
NeoStrata Enlighten 15% Vitamin C + PHA Serum is here to help change that. Packed with 15% Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid) clinically proven to target the look of dark spots, skin discolouration and texture, it is designed to target uneven skin tone and dark spots.
Unlike most vitamin C serums, this multi-action formula blends clinically-proven antioxidants plus exfoliating Polyhydroxy Acid to help diminish visible skin discoloration and protect against external environmental aggressors. Polyhydroxy Acid helps gently exfoliate the skin’s surface, allowing the pure Vitamin C to absorb into fresh, renewed surface layers of skin.
The powerful blend of ingredients includes:
15% Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid): Brightens the appearance of skin discolourations to reveal a natural, radiant complexion. Helps visibly fade dark spots and dark patches.
2% Gluconolactone (Polyhydroxy Acid): Gently exfoliates skin surface, including the look of dark spots, for a more even tone and texture. Sloughs off surface skin cells so Vitamin C can absorb into fresh, renewed surface layers.
1% Feverfew Extract: Gentle botanical antioxidant supports protection against drying environmental aggressors, such as pollution, that could worsen uneven tone. Enhances skin’s naturally occurring antioxidants.
Green Tea Extract (EGCG): Boosts Vitamin C antioxidant capacity.
“This new serum’s formula is special. It takes a holistic approach to skin brightening by combining multi-mechanistic benefits, including antioxidant protection and surface exfoliation,” says Ritamarie Guerrero, Manager of NeoStrata Research and Development.
How to use:
Apply to clean, dry face, neck and décolletage every morning, and follow with a NeoStrata moisturiser.
You can expect to start seeing results after one week’s use (now that’s pretty impressive!).
Good to know:
You should always apply a broad-spectrum SPF, but especially when you are using Vitamin C products. While Vitamin C helps protect the skin from sun-induced hyperpigmentation, it can also make the skin more sensitive to the effects of the sun, so it’s best to apply an SPF30 (or higher) every couple of hours and avoid being outdoors during peak hours.
