  1. This is a really nice foundation if you’re on a budget, I’m always amazed by the Essence brand, since you’d expect bad quality but always get more bang for your buck. This gives a good coverage that stays matte all day long, I would say if you have dry skin or patches, this will make it appear drier so make sure you moisturize well with a good primer.

  2. I am constantly amazed by the quality and affordability of Essence products. It is housed in a glass post with a lid that clearly indicates the shade of colour on the inside.
Application is very easy as it glides on without any problems.
It gives a lovely matte finish with medium coverage and it lasts me the whole day.
I have tried many mousse foundations that did not live up to their claims, yet this one is really good.
As this foundation is super light and provides medium coverage it is not recommended to use too much product as you might end up with a caky look.

  3. I went to Clicks looking for a mousse and my budget was tight and I actually spent 30 minutes looking at this mousse I was afraid to try but I am glad I picked it up.

  4. This product is a great substitute for the Dream Matte Mousse at just a fraction of the price. It offers a medium coverage and is very easy and smooth to apply. I personally cannot pick a scent up on this product, I am not sure if it is supposed to be scented. The colour range available should accommodate for most. There is no external packaging for this product, it is purchased in the tub you see above and the label is printed on clear plastic (which sometimes peels off as you use it). The lid used to be a light blue with the older essence range but they have since revamped it to reflect a colour close to the contents.

I do have to mention the negatives though, this product does not photograph well (especially with a camera flash). In pictures, it is easy to spot where you have applied this product because of the flashback. Also I’m on my third tub of this now and it was a little difficult for me to completely finish the other 2 tubs, because of the shape of the bottle, to scrape the last bit out of the edges is a bit of a mission.

  5. I loved this foundation – it’s unbelievably soft and velvety on the skin, and blends in very easily. I’m also impressed that essence have introduced new shades for ultra pale, as well as darker skins.

  6. This mousse foundation works fantastically. It covers your imperfections without losing freckles, and I love that! It is light and it leaves my skin feeling natural and healthy, even after a long day.

  7. I use this make-up (in Matte Almond) on a daily basis. I find it easy to apply and I like the shine-free finish. I do find that it needs to be touched up once or twice as the day goes on but, despite this, I would recommend it to friends. It is also a reasonable in terms of pricing, which I count as another advantage.

  8. I have tried this product and found that is not long lasting and does not offer full or medium coverage. I didn’t like the feel of it, I felt that it took a while to actually set and it left a very cakey and dry appearance. I was not very impressed with this product.

  9. I loved this product. This product is not long-lasting, because as the day progresses it would fade away. It did not meet my expectations, especially because I have an oily skin type. It’s not for keeps for me…

  10. I have very oily skin and I thought this product would just run of my face by 1pm like all the previous foundations I have used. But wow, this tiny tub of mousse foundation goes a long way. You only need a tiny bit for a full face cover. There is no spilling of half the product on your bathroom floor during application and no streaky marks on your face! I have a spare tub in my bag that I take everywhere with me. I rate it 4 stars, as the only downside is the design of the tub that makes it hard to scoop the last bit of the foundation out the edges. No matter, I still love it! Thank you, essence.
