There is nothing worse than spending a long time doing your make-up for a night out or a special occasion, only to have it wear off over time. With the help of a good primer and MAC Fix+ I know that my make-up will last a whole day which is especially helpful for daytime events.
The Fix+ comes in a spray bottle with an extra fine nozzle that dispenses a fine mist of Fix+. Because the mist is so fine, I don’t have to worry about it interfering with any powder products that I have applied.
It dries instantly and doesn’t irritate my eyes, which was a concern I had when I first purchased it. The bottle carries a fair amount of liquid and considering you only use one / two sprays every time you use it, it is guaranteed to last a fairly long time.
While I haven’t tried make-up fix sprays from any other brands so I don’t have anything to compare this to, I have been thoroughly impressed with this product and would highly recommend it.

I find this product a bit unnecessary, yet nice to have. If you have oily skin like I do, make-up with a matte finish is an obvious dream. However, even with an oily skin type, I like to have a satin finish for days when I want to look ‘naturally dewy’. It is a nice item to have, but you can live without it.
I love how this feels on my skin and whether I have makeup on or not, I like to give my face 3 light spritzes in the morning. Over makeup, it gives my skin a lovely dewy finish so that my makeup appears one with my skin, if that makes sense.
Over a clean, moisturised face, it makes my skin feel more hydrated and awake.
I’ve had my bottle for over 6 months and even with daily use, it looks like I have another month to go before it’s empty. Great value for money.
My make up always often dissapears over the course of the day and requires a touch up by 15:00 in the afternoon but since using MAC fix+ I can go all day and night with my foundation, powder, eyeshadow and blush looking fresh. As if it was applied just an hour ago. What more can a girl need!
Due to my dry skin, no matter what type of foundation, highlighter, contour product or blush I used, I always had a flaky effect on my face afterwards. I might have highlighted & contoured my face brilliantly but the flakes were still visible. Having given up hope, I discovered the MAC Fix+ Finishing spray. Talk about a charm! It fixed up my flakes instantly! Although I spray a bit on my beauty blender while blending regardless whether its powder or foundation this spray is the best beauty must have! Although it’s a bit pricey, I give it two thumbs up because believe me, it’s TOTALLY! TOTALLY worth it! ❤❤❤
If you, like me, have envied JLo’s beautiful glowy skin you have got to try Mac Fix +. I use it as a ‘finishing spray’ as such. Your make up looks flawless after a few sprays of this. If you have oily skin I do not recommend this as it does make your skin appear shiny. Also, it contains vitamins and minerals. Definitely a must have.
So I kept avoiding purchasing this product because I wasn’t sure how I felt about it, until I got it as a gift and got the chance to try it out, firstly I really have to say, I like the box, really classy white box which turns into a fine redish shimmer when it catches the light and the MAC embossed all over the box. So the box states that this product is “a soothing moisture mist that refreshes the skin and finishes make up. Hold bottle 12 inches away from face and spray evenly. Use before or after make up.”
The actual bottle is a semi see through bottle with a silver finish with a soft matte twist lid (by twist lid I mean it moves a certain amount to open and close the bottle – like a safety lock) but the entire spray part does come off, not that you would need it too. The bottle has quite a large spray button (perfect to try and achieve an even spray).
The actual spray has vitamins which are good for the skin and the spray has a lovey soft clean scent which isn’t too overpowering or strong. I’ve found two of my best uses for this product, one would be to use it after threading my face, which is a painful process – the Mac Fix + calms down my skin without allowing it to get red and all blotchy. My second use would be to set my make up, which gives me a fresh face all day long.
How do I know this product works? – it is a question a lot of people ask me, well I have really oily skin and I opt for a matte look most of the time, which means me using a mattifying powder which some times makes me look too powdery and a little weird looking. With a few spritz of this Mac Fix + my skin gets a natural matey look without the weird look, plus it lasts at least 4 to 5 hours before I have to touch up my make up again.
I’d recommend this product for traveling when your skin needs an instant boost, as well as if you have a long night ahead. The 100ml bottle lasts quite long so you won’t be running out, plus you don’t really need a lot of product. There is also a travel size available for those nights to parties or clubs.

I know that some ladies swear by this product but I am not completely sold on it yet. I enjoy the refreshing boost it gives my skin but I feel like a spritz of rosewater does the same thing. My makeup tends to stay in place with out without this spray so its not a train smash if I forget to use it. However, I would prefer a finer spritzer. I feel like sometimes I end up with too much on my face, and don’t tell me to hold it further away from my face, the product is meant for my face, not for the carpet/floor in between the nozzle and my face. I don’t think I’ll repurchase it.
I am in two minds about this product even though I’ve been using it on and off for about a year. I think that it’s a lot more effective for me personally in winter when I need that extra bit of hydration during the day. When I use it in warm weather conditions, it either gives me a healthy glow or makes me look like I’ve been sweating with makeup on. I normally spray about 30/40cm away to ensure an even application but the result is always unpredictable.
This is the most essential thing in my make-up kit since forever already. A friend and I became progressively obsessed with MAC comestics, we were then introduced to MAC Fix+ spray by a MAC consultant and we couldn’t believe that there was something that would do what we called “keeping your face on” and indeed MAC Fix spray was thee best thing to happen to our efforts of applying completely flawless make-up. This little 100 ml may surprise you by its size, however tends to last a rather long time depending on how you make use of it; 1 or 2 spritz are more than enough for a full face of make-up. MAC Fix+ is infused with loads of minerals and vitamins which to help perfect that refreshed and refined finished off look for day and night. No more running make-up, no more smudging but only a completely flawless look.
